Job summary

Tata Technology in Pune is seeking engineers with 3–9 years of hands-on experience in designing and detailing spot welding and MIG welding fixtures, both automated and manual. You will participate in process layouts, create 2D drawings and BOMs, and collaborate with OEMs to ensure robust fixture designs.

Knowledge of CATIA V5/UG NX, GD&T, tolerances and Teamcenter is desired. This role focuses on BIW welding fixtures and requires strong manufacturing and assembly process understanding.

Qualifications

• Hands on Experience in Designing & Detailing of spot welding/MIG welding fixtures (auto and manual).
• Knowledge of tolerances and materials; reading GD&T drawings.

Responsibilities

• Concept design of clamps, pin units stationary as well as retractable, slides and dumps.
• Exposure to Welding Lines Process & Layout (Spot Welding, ARC welding).
• Performs basic engineering calculations to verify design integrity.
• Create 2D manufacturing drawings and BOM.
• Knowledge of tolerances and materials.
• Read and understand GD&T drawings.
• Design experience in BIW welding fixtures.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing and assembly process.
• Experience with OEMs (GM, VW, BMW, FORD, DAIMLER etc.).
• Experience in conducting technical reviews with customers.
• Exposure to multiple CAD tools will be an added advantage.
• Experience in Teamcenter will be an added advantage.
