Groupe SEGULA Technologies SA in Chennai seeks an experienced automotive design engineer to lead BIW design and release activities for body structures and chassis components. You will work closely with architecture teams, design studios, and suppliers to ensure proper fit, form, and manufacturability using UG NX.

You will define validation plans (DVP&R, DFMEA) and monitor progress against KPIs, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to quality and safety standards in a dynamic environment.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in automotive design and release processes preferred.
• Familiarity with BIW structures and chassis systems beneficial.
• Knowledge of engineering standards and DFMEA is advantageous.

• Lead end-to-end design, packaging, and release of BIW sheet metal structures using UG NX.
• Coordinate with vehicle architecture teams to verify fit, form, function and kinematic clearances.
• Collaborate with Product Design Studio and supply base to align stamping, casting, and assembly feasibility.
• Develop technical source packages, SOWs, and specifications; work with Purchasing to source suppliers.
• Establish and execute validation test plans (DVP&R, DFMEA) for durability and braking performance.
• Track release timelines and engineering progress using KPIs and Cost/Weight/Investment metrics.

Jobbeschreibung

• Design Execution & Release: Lead the end-to-end design, packaging, and release of Body-in-White (BIW) sheet metal structures, chassis underbody frames, and brake subsystems (calipers, rotors, actuation, lines) using UG NX.
• Vehicle Integration & Packaging: Coordinate with vehicle architecture teams to ensure proper fit, form, and function, verifying kinematic clearances, dynamic envelopes, and structural interfaces across operating conditions.
• Supplier & Studio Collaboration: Partner with the Product Design Studio and supply base to align styling targets with stamping, casting, and assembly manufacturing feasibility.
• Sourcing & Purchasing Support: Develop technical source packages, engineering statements of work (SOW), and technical specifications; work with Purchasing to evaluate and source suppliers.
• Testing & Validation: Establish and execute component-, sub-system-, and vehicle-level validation test plans (DVP&R, DFMEA) to ensure structural durability, crashworthiness, and braking performance meet regulatory standards.
• Performance & Efficiency Tracking: Monitor release timelines and engineering progress using project management Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and C/W/I (Cost/Weight/Investment) efficiency metrics.
