Job summary

PeopleStrong in Thane is seeking a Biomedical Engineer to maintain hospital biomedical equipment and furniture, carry out preventive care, and manage breakdowns with vendor coordination to support uninterrupted clinical operations.

The ideal candidate will have a BE in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent, strong teamwork and communication skills, and hands-on experience with daily rounds, maintenance planning, and equipment inventory in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Biomedical Engineering is preferred.
• Experience in hospital equipment maintenance is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of equipment.
• Daily rounds to ensure proper functioning of equipment.
• Attend breakdown calls and coordinate with vendors.
• Plan maintenance schedule for all equipment and follow up regularly.
• Update preventive maintenance stickers on equipment after service.
• Number and inventory new or transferred equipment and hospital furniture.
• Technical comparison for procurement of equipment or furniture.
• Follow up with vendors for service issues.
• Document breakdown history and carry out administrative tasks.
• Be technically proficient with hospital equipment.
• Communicate effectively with end users and vendors.

Professional Experience

Role Purpose

To ensure the optimal functioning, safety, and maintenance of all biomedical equipment and hospital furniture through regular inspections, preventive care, breakdown management, and vendor coordination, thereby supporting uninterrupted clinical operations and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance of equipment.
• Daily Rounds to all departments ensuring proper functioning of equipments.
• Attending the breakdown calls.
• Planning the maintenance schedule of all equipments & keeping the proper follow-up for getting it done on regular basis.
• Updating the preventive maintenance stickers which are put on every equipment after every Preventive maintenance.
• Numbering all the new or permanently transferred Biomedical Equipments, Hospital Furniture to maintain the proper inventory.
• Technical Comparison of the equipments or hospital furniture which is planned to be procured.
• Follow-up with the vendors for service related issues.
• Filing, Administrative work, & maintaining the breakdown history of each equipment.
• Technically very well versed with all the equipments.
• Ability to communicate to the end user and the vendor.
