Job summary

Health Care Global Enterprises is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Engineer to lead the maintenance of hospital equipment and support clinical staff in operation and safety practices.

You will oversee preventive maintenance, staff training, and compliance with NABH standards while coordinating with suppliers and administration.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a biomedical maintenance department with complex equipment.
• Knowledge of NABH or equivalent accreditation standards.
• Ability to calibrate devices and ensure patient safety through regular checks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance, replacement, service and repair of complex biomedical equipment.
• Provide support to doctors, nursing staff and operators in equipment usage.
• Direct preventive maintenance and staff training on safe medical device practices.
• Provide on-call and emergency equipment support.
• Coordinate with suppliers for spares and service.
• Advise administration on equipment procurement and budgeting.
• Uphold NABH standards and participate in committees.
• Ensure calibration and safety checks to protect patient safety.

Role & responsibilities

• Effectively manage and coordinate activities of the Biomedical Engineering Department to include the evaluation, replacement, service and repair of complex biomedical patient equipment; administer policies and procedures applicable for efficient operations.
• To provide necessary support to the Doctors / Nursing Staff / Operators in terms of equipments usage.
• Direct all aspects of maintenance and repair of the equipment, as well as ongoing training and education of staff related to safe medical device uses and practices.
• Provide first hand support to the medical equipments during their breakdown and normal maintenance.
• Direct and manage preventive maintenance on medical equipment, through adjustment or replacement of items on a scheduled basis to prevent equipment failures.
• Ensure the patient safety and result accuracy by measures like periodic calibration, periodic safety checks etc.
• Provide on job training and support to the equipment users and operators.
• Coordinate with the agencies for spares and service support.
• Advice administration on matters pertaining to equipments purchase, performance, financial provisions etc.
• Maintain standards of practice consistent throughout the hospital and ensure that the accreditation standards of NABH and other accrediting agencies are met.
• Represent Biomedical Engineering on committees and attend Management and other administrative meetings as appropriate.
• Emergency Duties: Participate when required, in an on-call and emergency service.
