Job summary

Narayana Health is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to manage and coordinate the Biomedical Engineering activities. The role involves validating clinical equipment, ensuring safety, and performing planned maintenance inspections, calibrations, and repairs of general portable biomedical equipment.

The incumbent will be responsible for providing training to staff, supporting doctors and nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with NH policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that patient care instrument used throughout the Hospitals is safe.
• Effectively manage and coordinate activities of the Biomedical Engineering Department to include the evaluation, replacement, service and repair of complex biomedical patient equipment; administer policies and procedures.
• Provide necessary support to the Doctors / Nursing Staff / Operators in terms with equipment usage.
• Direct all aspects of maintenance and repair of the equipment, as well as ongoing training and education of staff related to safe medical device uses and practices.
• Provide on job training and support to the equipment users and operators.
• Coordinate with the agencies for spares and service support.
• Establish and implement technical protocols and management functions pertaining to biomedical equipment’s.
• Ensure that the asset data integrity and correctness is maintained for the assigned medical devices.
• Ensure proper documentation related to Preventive maintenance, Calibration, User training & Vendor services are duly completed and maintained.
• Adhere to NH Quality Policies, Procedures and Documentation.
• Adhere to NH Sourcing and finance policies such as Parts receipt, GRN, Timely submission of Invoice and Timely update of CMMS (RSQ).
• Plan, implement and evaluate programs to meet departmental goals.

Job Summary

To effectively manage and coordinate activities of the Biomedical Engineering. clinical equipment services under the close supervision of his/her Immediate Supervisor. Duties include, but are not limited to, validation and inspection of clinical equipment for completeness, mechanical and electrical safety, and proper operation. The individual also performs planned maintenance inspections, calibrations, and repairs of general portable biomedical equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensuring that patient care instrument used throughout the Hospitals is safe.
• Effectively manage and coordinate activities of the Biomedical Engineering
• Department to include the evaluation, replacement, service and repair of complex biomedical patient equipment; administer policies and procedures
• Applicable to efficient operations.
• To provide necessary support to the Doctors / Nursing Staff / Operators in terms with equipments usage.
• Direct all aspects of maintenance and repair of the equipment, as well as ongoing training and education of staff related to safe medical device uses and practices.
• Provide first hand support to the medical equipment’s during their breakdown and normal maintenance.
• Direct and manage preventive maintenance on medical equipment, through adjustment or replacement of items on a scheduled basis to prevent equipment failures
• Upkeep all equipment to its proper and uninterrupted working performance by planned and scheduled
• Perform preventive maintenance as per NH Hospital Check list
• Ensure the patient safety and result accuracy by measures like periodic calibration, periodic safety checks etc
• Perform rounds as per schedule to check the functionalities of various medical devices in the assigned area.
• Interact with the end users and concerned persons and update the status of work in progress.
• Maintain good working relationship with Vendors to ensure timely installations, user and technical training, warranty /post warranty services.
• Adhere to NH Sourcing and finance policies such as Parts receipt, GRN, Timely submission of Invoice and Timely update of CMMS (RSQ)
• Adhere to NH Quality Policies, Procedures and Documentation

• Establish and define departmental goals and objectives to meet goals and objectives of Hospital.
• Plan, implement and evaluate programs to meet departmental goals.
