Job summary

Sattva, a global impact consulting firm, seeks a Biodiversity Intern in Delhi/Bangalore/Mumbai to support sustainability reporting and data analysis. About Sustainability and Business Advisory

Our Sustainability and Business Advisory unit partners with Corporates and Funders to design and implement strategic interventions that support their sustainability goals. We craft focused strategies and forward-looking action plans, grounded in rigorous research and data-driven insights, to enable a meaningful transition towards net zero.

About the role:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic intern with a strong interest in sustainability and reporting. The ideal candidate will have some exposure to sustainability concepts and familiarity with global and regional frameworks such as GRI, BRSR, SASB, CSRD, TCFD, or ISSB. This role is a great opportunity for someone detail-oriented and eager to learn how to analyze sustainability data, support report development, data analysis and understand emerging disclosure requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support qualitative and quantitative research across topics such as agriculture, forestry, biodiversity, ecology, ESG, climate, and environmental sustainability.
• Assist in research and analysis related to financial institutions, insurers, impact investors, and agri- or forest-based commodity value chains.
• Conduct secondary research on sustainability trends, ESG risks, regulations, and industry developments.
• Collect, organize, clean, and validate data to support project analyses and client deliverables.
• Assist in data analysis using Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.
• Support the creation of dashboards, data visualizations, and summary insights for project teams.
• Prepare research summaries, presentations, and client-ready decks under the guidance of project teams.
• Contribute to benchmarking exercises, market assessments, and synthesis of qualitative and quantitative findings.
• Collaborate with consulting teams on live client engagements and support proposal development, knowledge management, and other project-related activities.

Role Requirements

• Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Forestry, Agriculture, Ecology, Climate Studies, Natural Resource Management, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of one or more thematic areas: Agriculture, Forestry, Biodiversity, Ecology, Climate, ESG, Environmental Science, or Sustainability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data cleaning, analysis, pivot tables, lookups, and basic analytical functions.
• Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills with the ability to synthesize information from diverse sources.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment.
