Job summary

Sattva, a global impact consulting firm, is seeking an Associate Consultant for its Sustainability & Business Advisory unit in Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, or Gurugram. You will support engagements with research, data analysis, and development of action plans across sustainability themes.

The role requires 3–5 years in sustainability/ESG or related advisory, strong analytical, communication, and client-facing skills, with preference for domain experience in reporting, ESG/GHG accounting,

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant sustainability, ESG, or advisory experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with qualitative and quantitative data.
• Ability to conduct structured research and translate findings into recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience in sustainability reporting, ESG/GHG accounting, circularity or gender preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support sustainability and business advisory engagements across diverse client projects and sectors.
• Conduct primary and secondary research, data analysis, benchmarking, and sector/market assessments.
• Develop sustainability strategies, frameworks, recommendations, and implementation roadmaps.
• Gather, analyze, and validate qualitative and quantitative data from stakeholders.
• Contribute to projects across themes including sustainability reporting, ESG, climate and GHG accounting, circularity, and gender.
• Assist in developing client deliverables, presentations, reports, frameworks and advisory tools.
• Stay updated on evolving sustainability, ESG and regulatory developments relevant to client work.

About Sustainability and Business Advisory

Our Sustainability and Business Advisory unit partners with Corporates and Funders to design and implement strategic interventions that support their sustainability goals. We craft focused strategies and forward-looking action plans, grounded in rigorous research and data-driven insights, to enable a meaningful transition towards net zero.

About the role:

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, impact, or related consulting/advisory roles. The role requires a strong consulting mindset, with the ability to conduct research and analysis, work with qualitative and quantitative data, develop actionable insights, and contribute to client engagements across diverse sustainability and business advisory themes.

Candidates with domain experience in one or more areas such as sustainability reporting, agriculture/agri-allied sectors, funds and funder advisory, ESG/GHG accounting, circularity, or gender will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support sustainability and business advisory engagements across diverse client projects and sectors.
• Conduct primary and secondary research, data analysis, benchmarking, and sector/market assessments to generate actionable insights.
• Support the development of sustainability strategies, frameworks, recommendations, and implementation roadmaps for clients.
• Gather, analyse, and validate qualitative and quantitative data from internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to projects across themes including sustainability reporting, ESG, climate and GHG accounting, circularity, agriculture/agri-allied sectors, gender, and funder/impact-related advisory.
• Support the development of client deliverables, presentations, reports, frameworks, and advisory tools.
• Stay abreast of evolving sustainability, ESG, sectoral, and regulatory developments relevant to client work.

Role Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Economics, Finance, Development Studies, or related fields.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG, impact, consulting, advisory, research, or related domains.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with both qualitative and quantitative information.
• Ability to conduct structured research, synthesise information, develop insights, and translate findings into clear recommendations.
• Strong orientation towards quality of deliverables, timelines, and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: Sustainability reporting, Agriculture / agri-allied sectors, Funds / funder advisory, ESG / GHG accounting, Circularity or Gender and inclusion
• Experience working in a consulting, advisory, corporate sustainability, funder, development-sector, or research environment is an advantage.
