Job summary

Buro Happold India in Bengaluru is seeking a BIM Technician/Modeller to support structural BIM models and drawings for international building projects. You will work under senior BIM coordinators, developing 3D models and drawings using Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks, and contribute to model coordination.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail‑oriented and eager to learn, with hands‑on experience in Revit Structures and AutoCAD and a diploma or bachelor’s in civil engineering.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of structural BIM/drafting experience for building projects.
• Hands-on knowledge of Revit Structures and AutoCAD; Navisworks exposure is a plus.
• Basic understanding of structural drawings, modelling workflows and reinforcement detailing.

We are currently seeking candidates for a BIM Technician / Modeller position in Bengaluru to support Buro Happold’s ongoing and future structural projects globally. This role is suited to an enthusiastic BIM Technician / Modeller who is looking to build strong hands‑on experience in structural BIM delivery while supporting major building projects across the Middle East, UK, US and other international regions. The successful candidate will work as part of an integrated global team, assisting in the development of coordinated 3D structural models and drawing packages from engineering sketches, calculations and design mark‑ups, while learning and applying Buro Happold’s BIM standards, workflows and quality procedures.

Your next role

As a BIM Technician / Modeller based in Bengaluru, your role will be to support the production of structural BIM models and drawings for international building projects. Working under the guidance of senior BIM coordinators, engineers and project teams, you will develop 3D models and drawings using tools such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks, contribute to model coordination, and help ensure that deliverables are produced accurately and in line with project standards. The ideal candidate should be keen to learn, proactive, detail‑oriented and comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team with colleagues across different offices.

As a BIM Technician / Modeller, we would expect you to be able to demonstrate:

• Support the development of structural BIM models and drawings for building projects using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Prepare structural plans, sections, elevations, details and schedules from engineering sketches, calculations and mark‑ups.
• Assist in setting up, maintaining and updating linked models under the guidance of senior BIM team members.
• Follow BIM execution plans, project standards, naming conventions and company quality procedures.
• Support model coordination with architectural, structural and MEP teams, including basic clash review and issue reporting using Navisworks or similar tools.
• Develop discipline‑specific BIM content and maintain model information accurately as the design progresses.
• Produce accurate reinforcement, concrete and steelwork drawings with support and review from senior technicians and engineers.
• Check your own drawings and model outputs for completeness, consistency and compliance with agreed project requirements.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, BIM coordinators and other disciplines to deliver high‑quality outputs to agreed programmes.
• Show willingness to learn new digital tools and contribute to continuous improvement in BIM delivery.

Your Skills And Experience

• 3–7 years of relevant structural BIM / drafting experience, ideally on building projects.
• Hands‑on working knowledge of Revit Structures and AutoCAD; exposure to Navisworks would be an advantage. Knowledge of Rhino and Grasshopper is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of structural drawings, modelling workflows, reinforcement detailing and steelwork documentation.
• Ability to follow instructions, apply project standards and produce accurate work with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and willingness to work with international engineering and BIM teams.
• Proactive attitude, eagerness to learn and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or an equivalent relevant technical qualification.
