Job summary

Depa Group is seeking a BIM Technician with a focus on interior fit-out to create precise 3D BIM models from design drawings and project docs. You will ensure modelling aligns with project scope and BIM standards, flag discrepancies to the BIM Coordinator, and integrate inputs from multiple trades to maintain cross-disciplinary alignment.

You will generate shop drawings, schedules and quantity take-offs while adhering to QA/QC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent in Civil/Architectural/Interior Design.
• Equivalent or relevant Diploma accepted.
• Min 2 years in interior fit-out industry.
• Good knowledge of Autodesk Revit and BIM tools.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate into accurate 3D models.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate 3D BIM models of interior fit-out elements from design drawings and project docs.
• Ensure modelling aligns with project scope as defined in BOQ and BEP/LOD specs.
• Review inputs and flag discrepancies or missing info to BIM Coordinator.
• Integrate model with latest coordination inputs from other trades; maintain alignment.
• Adhere to BIM standards, naming conventions, reference management and version control.
• Identify and report clashes or design conflicts to BIM Coordinator for resolution.
• Incorporate design and coordination revisions promptly to maintain accuracy.
• Generate outputs including shop drawings, schedules, take-offs and detailed views.
• Review project docs to understand scope and consult seniors when needed.
• Collaborate with Senior Modelers and BIM Coordinators to meet deadlines.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Develop accurate 3D BIM models of interior fit-out elements based on design drawings and project documentation.

2. Ensure all modelling tasks align with project scope as defined in the BOQ and comply with the required BEP & LOD specifications.

3. Review modelling inputs and highlight any discrepancies, inconsistencies, or missing information in drawings, specifications, and BIM documents to the BIM Coordinator.

4. Integrate and adjust model elements based on the latest coordination inputs and interface details from other trades, ensuring seamless interdisciplinary alignment.

5. Adhere strictly to established BIM standards, ensuring proper naming conventions, reference management, and version control of all model elements.

6. Identify and report clashes or design conflicts detected within the model during the modelling process to the BIM Coordinator for resolution.

7. Incorporate design and coordination revisions promptly to maintain model accuracy and project alignment.

8. Generate model outputs including shop drawings, schedules, quantity take-offs, and detailed views as per submission requirements.

9. Review all relevant project documents to understand the scope before starting modeling, and consult senior team members for clarification when needed.

10. Collaborate actively with Senior Modelers and BIM Coordinators to ensure timely delivery of modelling tasks and alignment with project deadlines.

11. Stay up to date with evolving BIM technologies, standards, and best practices, and contribute to team development by sharing relevant knowledge and improvements.

Bachelor Degree of Engineering Civil/Architectural/Interior Design

Equivalent or Relevant Diploma

Minimum experience

Min. 2 years preferably in Interior Fit-out Industry

Competencies (knowledge, skills, general abilities)

• Good knowledge in Autodesk Revit and other relevant BIM tools for modelling interior fit-out elements
• Good understanding of interior fit-out components, detailing, and materials
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate them into accurate 3D models
• Capable of generating accurate drawings, schedules, and documentation from BIM models.
• Good understanding of coordination requirements with other disciplines
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to follow instructions and standards set by senior modelers and coordinators.
• Knowledge of QA/QC standards for drawing production
• Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving BIM technologies and workflows.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle tasks under supervision
