BIM Mechanical Engineer

Job summary

Latinem is seeking an experienced BIM/MEP professional to develop and maintain Mechanical BIM standards in Revit, focusing on templates, families, and shared parameters for HVAC systems.

You will coordinate with project teams, optimize Revit workflows, and support rollout of BIM standards across disciplines. The role includes R&D in HVAC modelling, energy analysis, and plugin evaluation to drive digital delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in Mechanical BIM / Revit MEP roles.
• Strong expertise in Autodesk Revit MEP, specifically for Mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Solid understanding of HVAC design principles, system coordination, documentation, and BIM delivery requirements.
• Proven experience developing or managing Revit standards, templates, families, and shared parameters.
• Working knowledge of HVAC load calculation and simulation tools such as HAP and IESVE.
• Experience with MEP / sustainability plugins such as Pollination, MagiCAD, DiRoots, Naviate MEP, Ideate BIMLink, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve Mechanical BIM standards in Revit covering templates, families, shared parameters, views, schedules, and annotations.
• Review and optimise existing Revit MEP workflows to improve modelling efficiency, data consistency, and delivery quality.
• Prepare clear standard operating procedures, technical guidelines, and workflow documentation for Mechanical BIM processes.
• Support the rollout and consistent adoption of BIM standards across project teams.
• Lead and support R&D initiatives related to HVAC modelling, energy analysis, performance simulation, and digital delivery.
• Evaluate, test, and recommend relevant Mechanical / MEP plugins, automation tools, and emerging technologies.
• Identify practical use cases for scripting, Dynamo, and automation workflows that improve Mechanical BIM productivity.
• Document R&D findings and support the scaling of successful initiatives across the Design Technology team.
• Coordinate with Mechanical engineers, BIM Managers, Information Managers, and project teams to ensure effective implementation of BIM standards.
• Support multi-discipline coordination using Navisworks or similar clash detection platforms to resolve MEP clashes before construction.
• Assist in integrating Mechanical BIM workflows with Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms such as Autodesk ACC / BIM 360.
