Job summary

Shanti Infraconstruct Private Limited is seeking an Interior Billing Engineer to manage billing and quantity control for an interior fit-out / commercial construction project. You will measure executed work, verify contractor/vendor bills, and maintain BOQ records to ensure accurate cost documentation.

Collaboration with Project Manager and site teams is essential to ensure timely and accurate billing. The role requires on-site work, 2–5 years in billing/quantity surveying, and strong MS Excel

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil/Construction fields.
• 2–5 years of relevant billing/quantity surveying experience.

Shanti Infraconstruct has successfully executed projects across infrastructure, civil, structural, utility, and commercial construction. The company is now expanding its portfolio in commercial and institutional construction, interior fit-outs, retail projects, and urban infrastructure.

We are currently looking for an Interior Billing Engineer to support the billing and quantity management for a Haldiram commercial store project, with responsibility for accurate measurement, contractor/vendor billing, BOQ management, and project cost documentation.

Role Description

The Interior Billing Engineer will be responsible for handling the complete billing and quantity-related activities for an interior fit-out/commercial construction project.

The role will involve measurement of executed work, preparation and verification of contractor/vendor bills, BOQ management, rate verification, quantity reconciliation, and coordination with the site execution team.

The candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Interior Contractors, Vendors, Quantity Surveyors, and Accounts/Finance Team to ensure that all work executed at site is properly measured, documented, and billed.

Key Responsibilities1. Site Measurement & Quantity Verification

• Take and verify measurements of completed interior and civil works at site.
• Maintain detailed measurement sheets and Measurement Books (MBs) wherever applicable.
• Verify actual quantities executed against approved drawings and BOQs.
• Cross-check measurements submitted by contractors and subcontractors.
• Identify quantity variations, excess work, and deviations from the approved scope.

2. Contractor & Vendor Billing

• Prepare, check, and certify contractor and subcontractor bills for interior and construction works.
• Verify bills against approved BOQs, work orders, purchase orders, drawings, and site measurements.
• Check applicable rates, quantities, deductions, taxes, retention, advances, and other contractual terms.
• Ensure that bills are supported by proper measurement sheets and required documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors/vendors to resolve billing discrepancies.

3. BOQ & Rate Analysis

• Review and maintain project BOQs for interior and construction works.
• Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and site measurements.
• Perform rate analysis for new or extra items wherever required.
• Identify and document variation orders, extra items, and substituted items.
• Compare actual quantities with BOQ quantities and highlight major deviations.

4. Interior Works Billing

The candidate should be comfortable understanding and billing various interior works, such as:

• False ceiling and gypsum works
• Flooring and tiling
• Wall finishes and painting
• Carpentry and modular furniture
• Glass and aluminium works
• Doors, partitions, and shutters
• Electrical and lighting works
• Plumbing and sanitary works
• HVAC-related works
• Signage and branding works
• Kitchen and food-service-related civil/interior works
• Civil and finishing works associated with commercial interiors

5. Drawing & Documentation

• Read and interpret architectural, interior, civil, electrical, and MEP drawings.
• Compare drawings with actual site execution.
• Maintain proper records of approved drawings, BOQs, measurements, work orders, and bills.
• Maintain a systematic record of running bills and final bills.
• Support preparation of project billing statements and quantity reconciliation reports.

6. Material & Cost Reconciliation

• Assist in reconciliation of major materials used at site against executed quantities.
• Track material consumption wherever required for billing and cost control.
• Coordinate with procurement and site teams for material-related billing documentation.
• Identify abnormal consumption or quantity variations and report them to the Project Manager.

7. Coordination & Cost Control

• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Contractors, Vendors, Accounts and Finance Team.
• Provide regular updates on billing status, pending bills, variations, and quantity issues.
• Support project cost monitoring by comparing BOQ quantities, executed quantities, and billed quantities.
• Ensure timely submission and processing of project bills.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in billing/quantity surveying, preferably in interior fit-out, retail, commercial, hospitality, or construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of BOQ, quantity take-off, rate analysis, measurement, and contractor billing.
• Experience handling interior and finishing work measurements and billing.
• Ability to understand architectural, interior, civil, electrical and MEP drawings.
• Strong proficiency MS Excel.
• Experience with construction billing software or ERP systems will be an advantage.
• Good numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, vendors, site teams, and management.
• Willingness to work on-site and regularly conduct physical measurements.
