Job summary

Alfa Laval Mid Europe GmbH in Pune is seeking a Bid Engineer for Compact Welded Heat Exchangers (Spiral and Compabloc). You will support bids for medium to high complexity enquiries, review specs, and prepare configurations, costing, and quotations.

You will coordinate with Sales, Engineering and other functions, interact with international colleagues, and perform risk assessments to ensure competitive offers while adhering to QMS. Fluent English and strong Excel/Word skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in quotation preparation or project management.
• Knowledge of ASME, PED, and other relevant codes is beneficial.
• Experience with heat exchanger thermal design and sizing is advantageous.
• Understanding of incoterms and commercial terms.
• Proficient MS Excel and MS Word skills; fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide bid support for Compact welded heat exchangers (Spiral and Compabloc) for ETO projects.
• Review customer specifications and align with sales on offering.
• Prepare equipment configurations, deviations lists, technical specs, costing and quotations.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics.
• Interact with international colleagues and perform proactive risk assessments in bids.
• Ensure timely, competitive bid documents while complying with QMS.

Please feel free to peruse our website www.alfalaval.com.The position / About the Job:In this job the Bid Engineer would be responsible for:Key Tasks and responsibilities:Provide bid support for Compact welded heat exchangers (Spiral and Compabloc) for ETO projects. Focus will be on Compabloc and Spiral heat exchangers. There will be an induction & training on the Products.Participate in Bid Kick off meetings as well as technical clarification meetings and have alignment with Sales wrt offering.Review customers’ specifications and have explicit understanding of the requirement. Understand customer drivers to make the right proposals. Attend meetings with customers and consultants, when required.Prepare equipment configurations, deviations clarifications list, technical specifications, costing & quotations, resolution of bid queries.Ensure competitive, accurate and timely formulation of quotation documents, in coordination with relevant internal stakeholders.Consult with internal departments (Purchasing, Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics) to identify project deadlines and guarantee quality offers. Interact and coordinate with international colleagues (Europe based).Proactive risk assessment. Participate in Project Sales Plan (PSP) review, when required. Review of customer contract. Identify, understand and coordinate potential risks happening on the execution phase and endeavour to eliminate or mitigate them in bid stage.Adherence to Quality Management System (QMS)Ensure that Alfa Laval proposal complies with requirements while maximizing value to the customer and Alfa Laval.To chase an efficient and positive customer relationship throughout the sales process.Identify areas for improvement to increase sales efficiency and competitiveness. Actively consulting Customer, Sales and Operations colleagues, also via lesson learnt.Support and interact with sales companies globally.Support/drive improvements in bid processDrive development of tools, templates for bids.Who you are?As a person, you are customer oriented, a team player, outgoing, proactive with a willingness to learn & collaborate with associated stakeholders.
