Job summary

Alfa Laval PES Team in Pune, India is seeking a Construction Engineer with 5–9 years of experience in process plant construction. You will oversee site activities, ensure quality, health & safety, and coordinate with engineers, vendors and customers on international projects.

The role requires a BE in Mechanical, Chemical or Production, familiarity with drawings, MS Office and MS Project, and a proactive approach to delivering on schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• BE in Mechanical, Chemical or Production.
• 5–9 years of experience in relevant project execution.
• Preferably with international projects or Indian projects of MNCs.

• Oversee resource management and assign site tasks; monitor progress.
• Ensure construction activities follow internal rules, including 6 Basics.
• Monitor costs, installation quality, and project reviews; set priorities.
• Attend project site review meetings with customers, consultants and suppliers.
• Provide monthly cost provisions for erection activities.
• Prepare and circulate project status reports for site activities.
• Ensure Health & Safety measures at the site.

Position: Construction Engineer
Location: Pune, India
Experience: Minimum 5 –9 years of experience in relevant project execution. Preferably in handling international projects and/ or Indian projects of MNCs
Qualification: B.E. Mechanical / Chemical/ Production

Key Responsibilities

• Manage employees, including hiring, firing, motivation, and practical administration.
• Oversee resource management, including distributing project site work and other tasks to employees, and following up on progress.
• Ensure construction activities are conducted properly and in accordance with internal rules, including the 6 Basics.
• Monitor operational aspects such as installation quality, costs, construction hours, and project reviews in local PRB; set priorities for construction activities.
• Support employees with operational tasks.
• Serve as KPI (Key Performance Indicator) owner for the department.
• Contribute during the pre-bid stage as required.
• Attend project site review meetings with customers, consultants, and external suppliers.
• Recommend monthly invoicing for erection and commissioning.
• Provide monthly cost provisions for erection activities.
• Stay up to date with new technologies, processes, and tools, and implement them as needed.
• Ensure smooth handover of mechanical completion documents to the Project Manager.
• Prepare and circulate project status reports for site activities.
• Resolve operational hurdles or bottlenecks that may hamper project execution.
• Ensure appropriate Health & Safety measures are implemented at the site and monitor them through daily site reports.

Knowledge, Technical Skills

Knowledge: Good knowledge of project construction related activities for Process plants like – structure, erection, piping & electrical systems. Understanding of labour laws.

Skills: Good understanding of reading engineering drawings. MS Office. MS Project or any other project management tool.
