BESS Service Engineer

Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer for ESS/BESS projects across Pune and nearby sites. You will install and commission BESS, inverters and telecom power backup systems, diagnose faults, and provide on-site and remote support.

Travel to project sites is required, and you will coordinate with sales, design and service teams to ensure smooth execution. The ideal candidate has 3–6 years in ESS/BESS or solar installations, hands-on installation and troubleshooting experience, and

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years experience in ESS/BESS projects, telecom infrastructure, or solar installations.
• Hands-on installation, commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
• Familiarity with Li-ion batteries, inverters, and electrical drawings (SLDs).
• Strong communication and customer-handling abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys for ESS/BESS, telecom, and solar projects, including load assessment and feasibility analysis.
• Execute Installation & Commissioning of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Inverters, PCS, and related systems, and Telecom power backup solutions.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers and internal teams.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system faults, alarms, and performance issues.
• Ensure proper documentation, including site survey reports, commissioning reports, and service reports with warranty claim details.
• Coordinate with internal teams (sales, design, and service) for smooth project execution.
• Support customers in AMC/CAMC and after-sales service activities.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and quality procedures.
• Travel to project sites as per business requirements.

Qualifications

• Exposure to field service operations and warranty handling.
• Strong knowledge of ESS/BESS systems, Solar power systems, and Telecom power systems (DG, battery backup, rectifiers).
• Hands‑on experience in installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of electrical drawings, SLDs, and layouts.
• Familiarity with battery technologies (Li‑ion) and inverter systems.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and customer‑handling ability.
