Job summary

Flairdeck is seeking an experienced backup and storage administrator to operate, maintain and optimize enterprise backup infrastructures, ensuring data availability, integrity and compliance. You will manage backups, DR readiness and coordinate with infra, security and cloud teams.

The role focuses on Veeam, NetApp and Dell storage platforms, capacity planning, firmware updates and enforcing encryption and access controls.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification.
• 3+ years of hands-on backup or storage administration.
• Practical experience with Veeam backup solutions.
• Experience with NetApp and Dell storage platforms.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware).

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and optimize backup platforms (Veeam).
• Plan and execute backup schedules and retention schemes.
• Perform and validate restores, DR testing and simulations.
• Manage backup jobs, retention policies and capacity planning.
• Administer storage components (NetApp, Dell): pools, LUNs, snapshots.
• Monitor storage performance and forecast capacity.
• Apply firmware updates and lifecycle management.
• Implement encryption, access controls and ensure data protection compliance.
• Analyze incidents and escalate as needed; create runbooks.

Job Summary

Role summary: - Responsible for the operation, maintenance and optimization of enterprise backup and storage infrastructures to ensure data availability, integrity and compliance. - Executes backup/restore operations, drives capacity and lifecycle management, supports disaster recovery activities and collaborates across infrastructure, security and cloud teams.

Core responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and optimize backup platforms (Veeam)
• Plan and execute regular backup schedules and retention schemes
• Perform and validate restores, conduct test restores and participate in DR simulations
• Manage backup jobs, retention policies and capacity planning
• Administer storage systems and components (NetApp, Dell): storage pools, LUNs, snapshots, replication
• Monitor storage performance and perform capacity forecasting
• Apply firmware updates, patches and lifecycle management for backup and storage systems
• Implement encryption, access controls and ensure compliance with data protection / IT security requirements
• Analyze and remediate incidents and escalations in backup/storage environments
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks and emergency/contingency plans
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, cloud and security teams and participate in IT projects

Required qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, vocational training as an IT specialist, or equivalent qualification
• Several years (recommended 3+) of hands-on experience in backup or storage administration
• Practical experience with enterprise backup solution Veeam
• Hands-on administration experience with storage platforms (NetApp, Dell)
