Job summary

Infosys in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Backup Administrator to manage the enterprise Commvault environment across Windows and Linux platforms. The role emphasizes planning, optimization, and 24x7 support within a global IT landscape.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years in backup administration, hands-on Commvault components (CommServe, MediaAgent, Libraries, Deduplication), DR testing, ITIL processes, and scripting skills for automation and reporting.

Qualifications

• Backup Administrator with 3–5 years of experience, preferably with Commvault.
• Hands-on experience with Commvault components including CommServe, MediaAgent, Libraries and Deduplication.
• Strong knowledge of backup/recovery concepts, storage management and DR processes.
• Experience supporting Windows and Linux servers, VMware/Hyper-V and enterprise applications.
• Knowledge of SAN/NAS storage technologies and cloud backup solutions preferred.
• Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell/Shell) for automation and reporting.
• Experience managing enterprise backup environments focusing on optimization and capacity planning.
• Exposure to DR testing, compliance and audit requirements.
• Understanding ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change).
• Analytical, troubleshooting and documentation skills with 24x7 support capability.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain the Commvault backup and recovery environment across enterprise infrastructure.
• Configure and manage backup schedules, policies, retention rules, and storage resources.
• Perform backup, restore, DR, and data recovery activities to ensure business continuity.
• Troubleshoot backup failures, performance issues, and storage-related incidents within SLA timelines.
• Work with infrastructure, server, database, and application teams to ensure successful backup and recovery operations.
