Job summary

Infinity Learn is seeking a Tech Lead to drive the design, development, and scalability of our backend systems. You will lead a team of backend engineers working mainly in Java-based microservices and collaborate closely with frontend teams (React JS / React Native), Product, and DevOps.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for architecture decisions, code quality, delivery excellence, and mentoring engineers while building highly scalable, reliable, and performant platforms.

About the Role

We are looking for a Tech Lead to drive the design, development, and scalability of our core backend systems. You will lead a team of backend engineers working primarily in Java-based microservices while closely collaborating with frontend teams (React JS / React Native), Product, and DevOps.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for architecture decisions, code quality, delivery excellence, and mentoring engineers while building highly scalable, reliable, and performant systems.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Own backend architecture and design for scalable, distributed systems.
• Lead the development of microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
• Drive best practices in system design, coding standards, testing, and code reviews.
• Make critical decisions on data modeling, API contracts, and service boundaries.
• Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems.

Hands-on Development

• Actively contribute to code, especially for complex modules and critical systems.
• Debug production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
• Optimize system performance, database queries, and service interactions.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Mentor and guide backend engineers in technical and career growth.
• Conduct design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
• Build a strong engineering culture focused on quality and ownership.

Delivery & Execution

• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Drive sprint planning, estimation, and timely delivery of features.
• Ensure high engineering velocity without compromising on quality.

Platform & DevOps Collaboration

• Work closely with DevOps to build robust CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
• Ensure observability through logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Drive initiatives around system reliability, uptime, and resilience.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with frontend teams (React JS / React Native) to ensure seamless API integration.
• Collaborate with QA for test strategies and automation.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders on technical decisions and trade-offs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4-6 years of backend engineering experience with strong expertise in Java.
• Proven experience in building and scaling microservices architectures.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Java, Spring Boot
• REST API design
• SQL/NoSQL databases
• Distributed systems and system design
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of performance optimization, caching, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
• Exposure to high-scale consumer or SaaS products.
• Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., logs, metrics, tracing systems).
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools or agent-based workflows.
• Prior experience in a Tech Lead or Senior Engineer mentoring role.
