We’re looking for a Backend Lead Engineer who loves building scalable backend systems, takes end-to-end ownership, and enjoys leading a small, high-impact engineering team.

You’ll be hands‑on with code, drive key technical decisions, own deployments, and shape the backend architecture as we scale. This role is ideal for someone who thinks beyond tickets, understands system trade‑offs, and ships production‑ready solutions from idea to production.

What You’ll Do

End‑to‑End Ownership

• Own complete backend solutions: architecture, development, testing, deployment, and production support
• Take responsibility for production stability, performance tuning, and scalability
• Design and build scalable REST APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC
• Lead backend architecture and enforce clean design patterns and coding standards
• Drive technical decisions with long‑term maintainability in mind
• Build event‑driven and asynchronous systems using Kafka

Data & Integrations

• Design and optimize data models using SQL databases and MongoDB
• Collaborate closely with Angular frontend engineers to define clean API contracts

AI & Automation

• Enable agentic patterns such as task orchestration, background workers, decision engines, and automation pipelines
• Integrate AI/LLM‑based services where applicable to enhance backend workflows

Deployment & Reliability

• Directly handle cloud deployments (build, release, rollback, monitoring)
• Own CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration, and release processes
• Ensure quality through JUnit, integration testing, and production monitoring

Leadership

• Mentor and guide junior and mid‑level engineers, leading by example
• Conduct code reviews and promote strong engineering practices

What We’re Looking For

• 10–12 years of hands‑on backend development experience
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and backend best practices
• Strong grasp of design patterns and architecture‑level thinking
• Hands‑on experience with Kafka or similar message/event queues
• Strong experience with SQL databases and MongoDB
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Experience integrating with Angular or frontend applications
• Strong testing mindset using JUnit and integration testing tools
• Familiarity with agent‑based or workflow‑driven systems (background jobs, schedulers, rule engines)
