Job summary

Sonata Software is seeking a Backend Developer specialized in Go to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices in Pune. You will craft APIs, ensure inter-service communication, and optimize data-driven systems using modern cloud-native databases.

The role emphasizes distributed workflows, high-performance data access, and robust testing, with exposure to AI-assisted tooling to accelerate workflows.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of software development experience with strong hands‑on expertise in Go (Golang).
• Strong knowledge of Go concepts, including concurrency, goroutines, channels, interfaces, context handling, and idiomatic Go development.
• Experience building REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Understanding of error handling, retries, idempotency, timeouts, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience working with NoSQL databases, automated testing, Git, CI/CD, observability, API security, and production troubleshooting.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools in day‑to‑day engineering workflows.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

• Experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration platforms.
• Knowledge of Centrifugo, WebSockets, gRPC, Protocol Buffers, or OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Experience modernizing or integrating with legacy Python services.
• Experience developing AI‑enabled capabilities or integrating AI/ML models, LLMs, or AI services into production products.
• Experience working with large‑scale SaaS or cloud‑native distributed systems.
