Job summary

Sonata Software is seeking an experienced Frontend Developer in Pune with strong React and TypeScript skills to build scalable frontend applications and integrate with REST APIs and real-time services.

You will modernize components, including legacy AngularJS when needed, and work with AI-assisted tools to accelerate coding, testing, and deployment. Collaboration with product and engineering teams is essential for delivering production-ready features.

Qualifications

• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of frontend engineering practices.
• Take ownership of features from design and development through testing, deployment, and production support.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable frontend applications using React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Hooks, Context API, and reusable component patterns.
• Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs, WebSocket-based services, and real-time messaging platforms.

• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent to accelerate development, testing, debugging, code reviews, and technical problem-solving.

• Take ownership of features from design and development through testing, deployment, and production support.

Qualifications & Required Skills

• 5–8 years of software development experience with strong hands-on expertise in React.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, asynchronous programming, browser APIs, and component design.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs and real-time/WebSocket-based services.
• Experience with modern frontend build tooling, automated testing, Git-based development, and production troubleshooting.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day engineering workflows.
• Ability to independently understand existing codebases and collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Mandatory Skills

• React.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• React Hooks, Context API, state management, and reusable component design.
• REST API integration, asynchronous programming, and WebSocket-based communication.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot.

Good To Have Skills

• Experience with Centrifugo or similar real-time messaging technologies.
• Experience maintaining or modernizing AngularJS applications.
• Exposure to browser extensions, service workers, Playwright, MSW, pnpm, Vite, or Webpack.
• Knowledge of browser-based ML technologies such as ONNX Runtime Web, WebAssembly, or WebGPU.
• Experience developing AI-enabled features or integrating AI/ML models, LLMs, or AI services into production applications.
