Job summary

Navanc, India's first AI and data-driven platform powering secured lending, seeks a Backend Developer to design, build, and optimize robust backend systems for AI-driven fintech products.

You will work on micro-services, RESTful APIs, and data processing, collaborating with Data Science and Engineering teams to ensure secure, scalable solutions that support rapid decision-making in property-backed lending across India.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of backend development experience with modern stacks.
• Strong experience with RESTful APIs and relational/noSQL databases.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and containerization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and micro-services.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs for frontend connectivity.
• Optimize data storage and queries in PostgreSQL/MySQL and MongoDB/Redis.
• Architect end-to-end solutions for reliability, security, and scalability.
• Collaborate with Data Science/Engineering teams to integrate machine learning models.
• Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews.
• Write clean, tested code and implement automated tests.
• Stay current with backend/Python ecosystem trends and propose improvements.

Role Overview

As a Backend Developer at Navanc, you will design, build, and optimize robust, scalable, and secure backend systems for our AI-driven fintech products. You will play a pivotal role in developing micro-services, integrating AI/ML solutions, and ensuring optimal data processing and security. Collaborate across teams to deliver seamless user experiences and make a real-world impact on the future of secured lending and property assessment in India.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and micro-services for core products
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs for frontend connectivity
• Optimize data storage and queries in relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis) databases
• Architect end-to-end solutions ensuring reliability, security, and scalability
• Collaborate with Data Science/Engineering teams to integrate machine learning models
• Efficiently process large datasets, ensuring security and compliance
• Work with cross-functional teams for seamless application integration and delivery
• Mentor junior developers and share best practices
• Write clean, testable, efficient code; perform code reviews and implement automated tests
• Stay current with backend/Python ecosystem trends; propose innovative solutions for performance and usability

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of backend development experience with strong expertise in one or more modern stacks ( Python/Django/FastAPI, Node.js, Go, or Java/Spring).
• Strong proficiency in building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) and containerization tools (Docker).
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, micro-service architecture, and event-driven systems.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance optimisation.
• Experience in fintech or prop-tech domains with exposure to industry-specific challenges.
• Hands-on experience with message brokers like RabbitMQ, Kafka, or SES.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Exposure to AI/ML integration or data science workflows in production environments.
