Job summary

Deutsche Bank AG in Pune, India is seeking a senior Back End Developer to drive Java/J2EE development within an Agile squad. You will design, develop, test, and deploy software, while contributing to CI/CD and DevOps practices to improve delivery speed and quality.

You will collaborate with squad members to meet Sprint objectives, perform code reviews, and support end-to-end testing and production readiness in a fast-paced digitalization journey.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of hands-on Java/J2EE development experience.
  • Strong expertise in Java, J2EE, and Spring Framework.
  • Experience with SOAP/REST Web Services.
  • Knowledge of JMS/MQ messaging.
  • Experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design and discuss your own solution for addressing user stories and tasks.
  • Develop and unit-test, integrate, deploy, maintain and improve software.
  • Perform peer code reviews.
  • Participate in squad ceremonies (daily stand-ups, Scrum).
  • Contribute to Dev chapter lead activities.

Role Description

As a senior developer you will bring Java design and development skills to enforce the group of developers within a Squad. You will extensively make use and apply Continuous Integration tools and practices in the context of Deutsche Bank’s digitalization journey.

Your key responsibilities
  • Design and discuss your own solution for addressing user stories and tasks
  • Develop and unit-test, Integrate, deploy, maintain and improve software
  • Perform peer code review
  • Actively participate into the squad activities and ceremonies e.g. daily stand-up/scrum meeting
  • Actively participate and Dev chapter lead activities
  • Apply continuous integration best practices in general (SCM, build automation, unit testing, dependency management)
  • Collaborate with other squad members to achieve the Squad/Sprint objectives
  • Report progress/update Agile team management tools (JIRA/Confluence)
  • Manage individual task priorities and deliverables
  • Responsible for quality of solutions
  • Contribute to planning and continuous improvement activities. Support the PO, Analyst and Scrum Master
Your skills and experience
  • Min 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE application development.
  • Strong expertise in Java, J2EE, and Spring Framework.
  • Solid experience with Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs).
  • Good knowledge of Messaging platforms (JMS, MQ).
  • Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of batch processing, application security, and enterprise application architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with application servers such as Tomcat, WildFly, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Demonstrates a strong DevOps mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Design, develop, enhance, maintain, and support enterprise applications in line with IT application lifecycle standards and technology strategy.
  • Participate in functional design, technical design, coding, code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Experience with Camunda or any BPM (Business Process Management) platform.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
