Job summary

Novaya Software in Hyderabad is seeking a Senior Azure SQL Server Developer to join our Azure-focused team. You will work hands-on with Azure SQL Server on Azure Cloud, developing complex T-SQL queries and optimizing database performance.

The role requires deep expertise in SQL Server development, performance tuning, and collaborating with engineers to design scalable schemas for high-transaction workloads. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on database experience with complex T-SQL development on Azure SQL.
• Strong experience in MS SQL Server performance tuning, debugging, and query optimization.
• Design scalable database schemas for high-transaction, high-volume apps on Azure SQL.
• Experience with Azure SQL elastic pools, managed instances, and DTU/eDTU vs Vcore models.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers on Azure SQL.
• Collaborate with developers to design efficient database schemas, tables, and indexes.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and tune SQL queries for speed and reliability.

We're looking for a SeniorAzure SQL Server Developer to join our Hyderabad team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving real-world problems, and has hands‑on experience in working with Azure SQL Server on Azure Cloud.

Responsibilities:

• Excellent hands‑on database 8+ experience and skills in developing complex T‑SQL Queries, Stored Procedures, functions, triggers, views, T‑SQL scripts etc on Azure SQL.
• Excellent hands‑on MS SQL Server database development experience in troubleshooting, debugging, performance tuning, and query optimization in MS SQL Server.
• Design scalable database schema for high-transaction and high-volume applications on Azure SQL.
• Collaborating with application developers to design and optimize the database schema, tables, indexes, and relationships to support application requirements and performance.
• Writing, debugging, and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to ensure efficient data retrieval and manipulation by the application.
• Experience in troubleshot application performance issues and identify SQL Server bottlenecks. Performe index fragmentation and work on server performance tuning.
• Build complex queries, views, stored procedures, functions and triggers, optimized for high performance on Azure SQL.
• Analyze, improve and resolve slow running SQL queries in collaboration with application teams.
• Strong in performance tuning and query optimization using Profiler, Execution Plans, Query Store and Wait Stats.
• Identifying and resolving database performance bottlenecks related to application queries, server configuration, and indexing strategies.
• Experience in Create and configure PaaS Databases like Azure SQL single database, elastic pools and Managed instances in Azure Cloud.
• Having very good experience good knowledge on Pricing models of DTU/eDTU vs Vcore Model.
• Experience in Azure SQL Elastic Jobs and Run Books.
• Expertise in packaging and deploying SQL changes across 100s of databases as part of product releases.
• Must have Expert level hands‑on database development experience and database maintenance experience in Azure MS SQL Server.
• Hands on experience with SQL Tools: SQL Sentry One, SQL Profiler, Dynatrace, Redgate.

Required Skills

• Excellent hands‑on database 8+ experience and skills in developing complex T-SQL queries Server Stored Procedures, functions, triggers, views, T-SQL scripts etc.

• Must have Expert level hands‑on database development experience and database maintenance experience in Azure MS SQL Server.
• Experience in performing Database Maintenance activities like rebuilding/reorganizing indexes update statistics.
• Identifying and resolving database performance bottlenecks related to application queries, server configuration, and indexing strategies.
