Job Title: SQL Server DBA

Job Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and skilled MS SQL Server DBA to manage and support our critical database infrastructure across a 24/7 support model. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with SQL Server 2019, Always On Availability Groups, Change Data Capture (CDC), audit and security management, and experience working in high-availability and disaster recovery environments. Experience on Microsoft Azure is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server 2019 databases in production, test, and development environments.
Manage and monitor Always On Availability Groups, failover clustering, and DR (Disaster Recovery) setups.
Implement and maintain SQL Change Data Capture (CDC), backup strategies, and database recovery.
Perform query tuning, index optimization, and troubleshoot performance issues.
Set up and enforce SQL Server security policies, including auditing, encryption, and role-based access control.
Participate in and support rotational night shifts, including weekend on-call responsibilities as part of a 24x7 team.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, policies, and procedures.
Work closely with application teams, infrastructure, and security to ensure high database availability and performance.

Must-Have Skills:

Strong experience as an MS SQL Server DBA (2016/2019).
Hands-on expertise with Always On Availability Groups and HA/DR configurations.
Experience with SQL CDC (Change Data Capture) and SQL Server auditing.
Proficiency in query tuning, index optimization, and performance troubleshooting.
Knowledge of security management, including user permissions and encryption mechanisms.

Good-to-Have Skills:

Experience working in Microsoft Azure SQL or hybrid cloud environments.
Exposure to automation using PowerShell or T-SQL.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Redgate, or native SQL tools.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Willingness to work in a rotating shift and take ownership during critical incidents.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to operational excellence.
