Job summary

Omspace Rocket and Exploration Pvt. Ltd. seeks a senior professional to head Avionics Systems for launch vehicle programs. You will drive end-to-end design, integration, and qualification of TT&C, OBC, EPS, and flight software, ensuring reliability and safety for missions.

You will lead a team of engineers, oversee V&V, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and ensure conformance to aerospace standards. Strong embedded and systems integration experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Embedded systems, PCB design, power electronics, RTOS and sensor integration in launch vehicle avionics.
• Experience in aerospace domain with high-reliability embedded systems.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and integration for telemetry, tracking & command (TT&C), onboard computers (OBC), EPS, flight software, and data acquisition.
• Oversee requirements, PCB/embedded hardware development, software verification, environmental qualification, and HIL testing.
• Mentor avionics engineering team; conduct PDR/CDR design reviews and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Establish FMEA, redundancy strategies, EMI/EMC compliance, fault management and aerospace quality standards.
• Coordinate with internal systems teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners for component selection and launch campaign support.

Position Overview

The Head of Avionics System leads the end-to-end design, development, integration, and qualification of all launch vehicle avionics subsystems. This role drives the complete development lifecycle for flight-critical hardware and software, ensuring high reliability, safety, and operational readiness for launch vehicle missions.

Key Responsibilities

• Subsystem Architecture & Development: Lead design and integration for Telemetry, Tracking & Command (TT&C), On-Board Computers (OBC), Electrical Power Systems (EPS), flight software, and data acquisition systems.
• Lifecycle Management: Oversee requirements definition, PCB/embedded hardware development, software verification, environmental qualification, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
• Technical Leadership & Reviews: Direct and mentor the avionics engineering team, conduct PDR/CDR design reviews, and ensure project delivery on schedule and within budget.
• Quality & Reliability: Establish FMEA, redundancy strategies, EMI/EMC compliance, fault management, and aerospace engineering quality standards.
• Integration & Operations Support: Coordinate with internal systems teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners for component selection, system integration, and launch campaign support.

Qualification & Core Competencies

• Programming & Tools: C, C++, Python, MATLAB / Simulink.
• Industry Background: Proven experience in aerospace, satellites, defense, or high-reliability embedded systems.
