Job description

Avionics Systems Engineer – Full Time, Department: Engineering, Work type: On‑Site. Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Digantara is a leading Space Surveillance and Intelligence company. The role of a Satellite Systems Engineer is to contribute to the systems engineering of flight‑critical Avionics subsystems for Ground‑Based and Space‑Based sensors for Space Situational Awareness (SSA) applications. The ideal candidate has experience in systems engineering of avionics systems, on‑board computers, flight software or GNC in spacecraft or launch vehicles.

Responsibilities
  • Define, document, and manage system requirements throughout the product life cycle.
  • Plan, configure and allocate requirements to subsystems, ensuring coherence and traceability throughout the design process.
  • Perform system‑level trade‑off studies to optimize performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Develop and maintain system‑level documentation, including specifications, interface control documents, and system design descriptions.
  • Conduct requirements analysis, verification, and validation activities to ensure compliance with customer needs and industry standards.
  • Develop risk mitigation plans and monitor their implementation.
  • Facilitate customer and stakeholder engagement to capture and understand their needs and expectations. Communicate technical concepts, requirements, and issues clearly and concisely to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • 4 out of the 5 below mentioned qualifications are mandatory.
  • Bachelors or Masters in Aerospace, Electronics, Electrical or a relevant discipline.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in Space industry or affiliated industries.
  • In‑depth understanding of all the critical subsystems and segments that make up a satellite mission, especially the Avionics architecture.
  • Proven experience in engineering project management, ensuring timely delivery, resource allocation, risk management and effective team collaboration.
  • End‑to‑end design and realisation experience (or) Systems integration experience in an Avionics subsystem/system in the Space industry.
Preferred Qualities
  • Skilled in creating detailed technical reports, contents, manuals, and operational guidelines.
  • Experience with SysML and ECSS standards or similar.
  • Professional certification in Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE).
  • Have a can‑do spirit and good problem‑solving skills.

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills as well as organizational skills.
  • Travel occasionally as necessary.
