Job summary

Kumaran Systems in Chennai (Hybrid) is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, and Playwright. You will build scalable frameworks and execute comprehensive tests across API and UI layers.

The role requires hands-on experience with TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle, SQL, and version control, plus CI/CD exposure (Jenkins). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile setting to improve coverage and quality.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java with strong coding skills.
• Hands-on Selenium WebDriver experience.
• Experience with Playwright Automation.
• Knowledge of TestNG/JUnit frameworks.
• Experience with Maven/Gradle and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with API testing tools (REST Assured, Postman, SOAP UI).
• Knowledge of SQL and database validation.
• Experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab.
• Familiarity with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of test automation framework design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, and Playwright.
• Build and enhance automation frameworks based on project requirements.
• Create and execute functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end test cases.
• Develop robust and reusable test automation components.
• Perform API testing using REST/SOAP services.
• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins.
• Analyze test execution results and provide detailed defect reports.
• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and QA teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Monitor and improve test automation effectiveness and coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, and Playwright .
