Job summary

N-able, Inc. Bengaluru is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join our testing team. You will collaborate with developers to ensure testability, participate in feature and regression testing, and maintain robust test documentation.

You will develop automated tests using Cypress/Playwright or Robot Framework, execute tests, and help improve the test framework. Strong scripting and SQL skills are valued, with Agile experience preferred.

What You'll Do

• Collaborates with developers to assess the testability of tasks.
• Participates in feature and regression testing.
• Organizes and maintains test documentation to maintain quality.
• Determines appropriate techniques for testing features, based on best practices, to ensure the proper quality of testing.
• Develops areas of expertise in small components and is recognized as an expert in those components.
• Develops new automated tests in line with the structure of existing tests, and adds enhancements to the test framework/library, when required, under supervision.
• Executes automated tests and analyzes the result.
• Maintains test infrastructure to ensure operability.
• Assistance to developers with bug reproduction and root-cause analysis.
• Informs the team on continuous improvement opportunities to enhance testing processes.
• Tests usability and suggests improvements for features and functionality.
• Assist senior team members in onboarding new hires.

What You'll Bring

• Strong knowledge of the theory of testing and automation
• Solid understanding of software quality control process and SDLC
• Intermediate skill level in multiple test automation frameworks
• Understanding of Web technologies: HTML, CSS, XML, JSON
• Experience with the development of End-to-End and API automated tests
• Proficient in writing code in languages used for automated tests using the programming language relevant to the product/stream for automation, e.g.: JavaScript, Typescript, PHP
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated tests using Cypress, Playwright, and/or Robot Framework
• Experience with API testing and associated tools
• Experience working with relational Databases and SQL
• Experience with scripting (bash)
• Proficient in the use of advanced features of browser dev tools
• Experience with Source Control tools (Git)
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins
• Experience with Docker
• Proficient in the use of Windows/macOS/Linux
• Experience with Agile processes
• Nice to have: experience with SDD (Spec Driven Development)
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to onboard new team members
• Bachelor's degree and 2- 4 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree without experience, or equivalent work experience
