SwitchOn, a Bangalore-based deep tech startup, seeks an Automation PLC Engineer to drive AI-powered quality inspection systems on manufacturing lines. You will design and implement automation solutions, program PLCs (Delta, Mitsubishi, Siemens S7/TIA Portal, Omron), configure HMIs, and ensure on-site and remote commissioning.
You'll collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams, troubleshoot issues, and document wiring and programs.

About the Role
At SwitchOn , our cutting-edge systems capture images from complex manufacturing lines and runs DeepInspect to detect defects with over 99% accuracy. We are looking for a passionate and hands-on Automation PLC Engineer to drive the development of our AI-powered quality inspection systems . In this role, you will bridge the gap between DeepInspect and real-world manufacturing environments—ensuring successful implementation, tuning, and validation of systems that deliver world-class defect detection performance.
What will you be doing on a day-to-day basis?
1. Design and implementation of automation systems.
2. Writing and modifying PLC programs for SPMsand production lines.
3. Setting up and configuring HMIs and control panels.
4. Troubleshooting and fixing issues on-site or remotely.
5. Testing, commissioning, and supporting automation systems at client locations.
6. Coordinating with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure everything workssmoothly.
7. Keeping good documentation of programs and wiring for future referenceRequirements:
1. Good working knowledge of Delta, Mitsubishi, Siemens (S7/TIA Portal), andOmron PLCs.
2. Comfortable with HMI programming and basic SCADA is plus
3. Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting machines or systems.
4. Able to read electrical drawings and understand panel wiring.
5. knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus/Ethernet IP/Proficient etc
6. Working knowledge machine vision software for inspection systems is a plus
