Job summary

SFC Environmental Technologies Limited is seeking an Automation Engineer (PLC Programmer) to develop and implement PLC–SCADA–HMI programs, support onsite commissioning, and ensure reliable plant operation across project sites in India.

You will work with cross-functional teams, coordinate with vendors, and adhere to safety, quality, and project standards while optimizing control systems using platforms like TIA Portal, Studio 5000, WinCC, and Iconics.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in industrial automation and PLC–SCADA programming.
• Diploma or BE in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.
• Willingness to work at multiple project sites across India.

Responsibilities

• Develop PLC–SCADA–HMI programs as per control philosophy using platforms such as TIA Portal, Simatic Manager, Studio 5000, GX Works, WinCC, FTView, and Iconics.
• Execute PLC–SCADA–HMI commissioning across project sites, perform I/O checks, instrument calibration, MCC wiring verification, and validate logic for start-up.
• Maintain program backups, test reports, and version control; review I/O lists, panel layouts and cable schedules.
• Coordinate with PLC–SCADA vendors for software/hardware and technical support; review data sheets and site inputs.
• Troubleshoot PLC/SCADA issues, support installation and panel integration, and coordinate with teams and clients for handover.

Role Definition:

The Automation Engineer (PLC Programmer) will develop and implement PLC–SCADA–HMI programs, support onsite commissioning, troubleshoot automation issues, and ensure reliable plant operation across project sites in India. The role requires strong programming skills, coordination with cross-functional teams, and adherence to safety, quality, and project standards.

Experience

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in industrial automation, PLC–SCADA programming, and plant commissioning.

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Develop PLC–SCADA–HMI programs as per control philosophy using platforms such as TIA Portal, Simatic Manager, Studio 5000, GX Works, WinCC, FTView, and Iconics, ensuring robust logic design, interlocks, and functional sequencing.
• Execute PLC–SCADA–HMI commissioning across project sites, perform PLC I/O loop checks, instrument calibration, MCC wiring verification, and validate automation logic for smooth plant start-up
• Maintain program backups, test reports, and version control, and review project documentation such as I/O lists, panel layouts, and cable schedules.
• Coordinate with PLC–SCADA vendors for software/hardware and technical support, review technical offers and data sheets, and collect site inputs to update automation logic.
• Troubleshoot PLC/SCADA issues, support installation and panel integration, validate logic performance, and coordinate with internal teams and clients for clarifications, training, and handover.
