Job summary

Propack Technologies in Maharashtra, India seeks an experienced Automation Engineer for pharmaceutical equipment and process automation. You will develop, test, commission PLC, HMI and SCADA systems, perform FAT and support site installations, with a focus on customer URS and project delivery.

Requires Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electronics, Instrumentation or Electrical engineering, with hands-on PLC/SCADA programming and familiarity with P&ID, URS and wiring diagrams; travel to client

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electronics, Instrumentation or Electrical engineering.
• Experience in pharmaceutical equipment and process automation is mandatory.
• Knowledge of PLC/HMI/SCADA and FAT/commissioning processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, program, test and commission PLC, HMI and SCADA control systems for pharmaceutical equipment.
• Select suitable PLC, HMI and SCADA hardware/models based on URS and project needs.
• Develop I/O lists from P&ID/URS and project requirements.
• Interpret P&ID drawings and electrical schematics; perform wiring checks.
• Carry out FAT and support installation, testing and commissioning onsite.
• Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure timely execution.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer with hands-on experience in Pharmaceutical Equipment and Process Automation. The candidate will be responsible for PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, testing, FAT, commissioning and project execution.

Qualification:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electronics Engineering
  • Instrumentation Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering

Industry Experience:

• Prior experience in Pharmaceutical Equipment and Process Automation is mandatory.
• Experience in Pharma / Food Processing / Industrial Automation will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, program, test and commission PLC, HMI and SCADA control systems for pharmaceutical and process equipment.
• Select suitable PLC, HMI and SCADA hardware/models based on customer URS and project requirements.
• Develop I/O Lists based on P&ID, URS and project requirements.
• Develop programming logic and execute automation/control system projects.
• Read and interpret P&ID drawings, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Carry out control panel testing, troubleshooting and system validation.
• Perform FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and support preparation of FAT-related documents.
• Execute site installation, testing and commissioning of automation systems as required.
• Coordinate with Project, Design, Electrical, Instrumentation and other departments for timely project execution.
• Maintain project schedules and ensure assigned tasks are completed within agreed timelines.
• Identify and communicate scope changes, customer requirements and project updates to Project Managers.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical and instrumentation wiring and control system issues.
• Provide technical support during testing, commissioning and customer interactions.
• Work independently as well as effectively within a team.
• Adapt to changing project priorities, deadlines and customer requirements.
• Travel to customer sites as required for installation, testing and commissioning.
• Ensure automation activities are carried out as per project specifications, URS and applicable standards.

Technical Skills Required:

• PLC Programming and Troubleshooting.
• HMI and SCADA Programming.
• Knowledge of I/O List preparation.
• Good understanding of P&ID and URS.
• Knowledge of Electrical and Instrumentation Wiring.
• Ability to read Electrical Schematics and Wiring Diagrams.
• Experience in FAT and Commissioning.
• Programming knowledge in .NET, VB/VB.NET, SQL/T-SQL, SQL+ or other high-level programming languages.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or similar electrical design software will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Functional Specifications and Validation Documentation will be an added advantage.
