Job summary

EY Technology is seeking an Information Security Senior QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated and manual test solutions for security technology products. Qualifications

Information Security Senior QA Automation Engineer

The opportunity

As a member of the Security Implementation and Integration Services team, the Information Security Senior QA Automation Engineer supports the delivery of secure, reliable, and well-tested technology solutions by designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated and manual test solutions within assigned project or product areas. The role applies hand-on automation engineering, test planning, defect analysis, regression testing, and quality risk identification to help ensure deliverables meet business, technical, and Information Security expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts and supporting test assets for assigned applications, integrations, and security technology solutions.
• Provide practical technical guidance to project team members on automation approach, test design, execution strategy, defect analysis, and quality risk mitigation.
• Assist in the development and continuous improvement of quality assurance automation standards, reusable frameworks, coding practices, procedures, and best practices.
• Contribute to program/project review meetings, support Quality Assurance Management in determining status, assessing problem areas, suggesting and reviewing corrective actions, directing/planning necessary extra work, and rework and re-plan activities.
• Support the onboarding of new team members.
• Work with project stakeholders to determine the appropriate quality initiatives to implement during system development life cycles.
• Support the Implementation Quality Assurance Architect or Quality Assurance Leads by coordinating assigned test automation activities, reporting progress, and identifying delivery risks for assigned project areas.
• Recommend improvements to Quality Assurance processes, test assets, automation coverage, and testing practices based on lessons learned during delivery.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other IT services, IT solution functions, and customers to expedite the delivery of IT solutions.
• Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the application of basic principles and practices related to Software Development Process Improvement.
• Identify process improvements and contribute to corporate testing standards and definitions.
• Investigate and document the internal control of specified aspects of Quality Assurance processes and assess compliance with the relevant standards.
• Control, update, and distribute new and revised quality standards, including technical changes.
• Work within quality assurance frameworks to ensure stability, efficiency, and scalability.
• Review requirements and specifications to define appropriate automated and manual test coverage, including functional, regression, integration, and non-functional test scenarios.
• Design test cases, test scripts, and automated test solutions under own direction, mapping coverage back to requirements and recording results for review by the Implementation Quality Assurance Architect or Quality Assurance Lead.
• Execute automated and manual tests, analyze results, document defects, and verify that software meets specified business, technical, security, and quality requirements.
• Take responsibility for the integrity of testing and acceptance activities and coordinate the execution of these activities.
• Provide guidance on test automation design, maintainability, execution reliability, and appropriate use of automation within the overall test strategy.
• Support all phases of the testing process, including test planning, test case development, execution tracking, defect reporting, traceability, and evidence capture.
• Analyze and report test activities and results.
• Identify and report issues and risks associated with automated testing, test environments, test data, defect trends, and delivery readiness.

Tools And Technology Experience

• Experience with Selenium, Robot Framework, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools for test automation, test management, work tracking, and delivery reporting.
• Experience developing or maintaining automated regression test suites and integrating automated testing into Agile, iterative, or CI/CD delivery practices.
• Familiarity with scripting, test data management, environment coordination, and defect lifecycle management tools used in enterprise technology delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT environment, including hand-on experience with quality assurance, test automation, software delivery, enterprise application delivery, Information Security, infrastructure, or integrated technology solutions.
• Experience participating in software delivery projects and coordinating testing activities across business, technical, and delivery stakeholders.
• Experience with automated test script development, quality assurance testing, test case development, defect management, regression testing, and automation framework maintenance.
• Experience supporting testing within Agile, iterative, or hybrid delivery environments.
• Experience providing automation guidance to peers or junior team members is preferred; formal people management experience is not required.

Specific Qualifications

• Proficiency in QA automation tools, automated regression testing, test design techniques, and security-aware testing practices.
• Experience with security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS.
• Knowledge of risk assessment and management practices.
• Familiarity with regulatory, audit, and evidence requirements that influence testing and quality assurance in Information Security environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
