Job summary

Hallmark Search Partners is seeking an experienced AVB (Audio Video Bridging) / TSN Engineer for permanent roles in automotive or embedded environments. You will design and validate real-time Ethernet solutions, focusing on IEEE 802.1 standards and time-critical communication.

The role requires hands-on development on Classic AUTOSAR / Embedded Linux or RTOS, with proficiency in C++, network protocols, and diagnostic tools like Wireshark.

Qualifications

• Experience with Ethernet and AVB/TSN standards; knowledge of IEEE 802.1 family, gPTP and AVTP required.
• Hands-on experience with embedded Linux/RTOS and AUTOSAR is a plus.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills for real-time networking.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain AVB/TSN networking solutions.
• Implement IEEE 802.1 TSN standards including 802.1AS (gPTP), 802.1Qav, 802.1Qbv, 802.1Qbu/802.3br, 1722 (AVTP) and 1722.1 (AVDECC).
• Develop and debug Ethernet stacks on Classic AUTOSAR / Embedded Linux or RTOS platforms.
• Analyze network traffic using Wireshark, Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, or other protocol analyzers.
• Perform integration and validation of AVB/TSN features in automotive ECUs, gateways, switches, and end nodes.
• Work closely with hardware, system, and application teams to ensure deterministic communication performance.
• Conduct performance analysis, latency measurements, synchronization validation, and troubleshooting.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain AVB/TSN networking solutions.
• Implement and optimize IEEE 802.1 TSN standards including:
• IEEE 802.1AS (gPTP)
• IEEE 802.1Qav (Credit-Based Shaper)
• IEEE 802.1Qbv (Time-Aware Scheduling)
• IEEE 802.1Qbu / 802.3br (Frame Preemption)
• IEEE 1722 (AVTP)
• IEEE 1722.1 (AVDECC)
• Develop and debug Ethernet communication stacks on Classic AutoSAR / Embedded Linux or RTOS platforms.
• Analyze network traffic using tools such as Wireshark, Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, or other protocol analyzers.
• Perform integration and validation of AVB/TSN features in automotive ECUs, gateways, switches, and end nodes.
• Work closely with hardware, system, and application teams to ensure deterministic communication performance.
• Conduct performance analysis, latency measurements, synchronization validation, and troubleshooting.
• Participate in architecture reviews, technical discussions, and customer interactions.

Mandatory Skills

Experience with Ethernet and AVB/TSN standards; knowledge of at least one relevant standard i.e., IEEE 802.1Q/av/bv/bu, gPTP and AVTP protocols required.

Option 1: Network

• Strong C++ programming in middleware.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, VLAN Layer2 networking

Option 2: Autosar

• Strong Classic AUTOSAR experience with BSW configuration and development.
• Strong C programming with AUTOSAR BSW configuration and development.
• Hands-on experience with C, Linux/RTOS and Ethernet stack configuration.

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
