Job summary

NMD Placement Consultancy seeks an experienced Android audio software engineer in Kolkata to lead design and implementation of audio components in the Android Audio Framework and HAL layers for automotive infotainment systems.

You will drive feature breakdown, backlog grooming, and sprint planning, ensuring performance KPIs like latency and CPU usage are met while aligning with system architecture and middleware.

Qualifications

• Extremely proficient in C & C++ programming language.
• Experience with Android code base customization for Automotive Infotainment.
• Strong knowledge of Android HAL, Linux drivers and Core Android frameworks (Middleware).
• Familiarity with binder, shared memory and OS internals.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of audio components for Android Audio Framework & HAL levels.
• Meet Audio KPIs (latency, CPU usage, etc.).
• Break down features into technical tasks and maintain backlog.
• Plan sprints and ensure traceability to software architecture.
• Coordinate daily stand-ups and peer reviews.

Job Requirements

Responsible for the Android Audio Framework & HAL layers

Lead the team in design & implementation of audio components

Audio framework & HAL extensions to meet the automotive use case

Audio Focus/Priority Management for Automotive requirement

Handling for the audio routing through the framework & HAL layers

Implementation of the custom interfaces to extended functionalitie

Responsible for meeting the Audio KPIs (latency, CPU, etc.)

Breakdown of the user features into technical task

Backlog creation & grooming for the feature

Sprint Planning of incremental tasks implementation in alignment to program

milestone

Conduct daily stand-up meetings and communicate the progress

Peer review of the design & cod

Ensure traceability and consistency to software architecture and to software

requirement

Ensure process compliance

Request all input which is necessary to fulfil the responsibilities

Extremely Proficient in C & C++ programming language

• Work on Android code base for customizing for Car Infotainment Systems based on the requirements
• Work on Android HAL, Linux drivers and Core Android frameworks for Middleware
• Work on open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks, build system, Android internal frameworks (HAL etc
