Job summary

Adani Group in India is seeking an experienced Mine Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day open-cast mining, ensure production targets, and optimize equipment utilization.

The role requires leading mine engineers and contractors, coordinating with planning and geology teams, and maintaining regulatory compliance under DGMS. Strong focus on safety, environmental standards, reporting, and cost control; 8–15 years of limestone mining experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mining Engineering from a recognized institute.
• First Class Mines Manager Certificate of Competency (Restricted/Unrestricted) under DGMS regulations.
• 8–15 years of experience in open-cast mining operations.
• Experience in limestone mines preferred.
• Proven exposure to drilling, blasting, mine planning, fleet management, and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Mine Operations Management: Plan, organize, and supervise day-to-day mining operations; achieve production targets; monitor drilling, blasting, excavation, loading and transportation; optimize productivity and equipment utilization.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure mines act and DGMS regulations; implement safety management systems; conduct inspections, audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments; investigate incidents.
• Resource & Team Management: Lead mine engineers, supervisors, operators, and contractors; develop workforce through training; ensure deployment of manpower and equipment.
• Mine Planning & Development: Coordinate with planning and geology teams for short/long-term plans; monitor development activities; support exploration and reserve estimation.
• Contractor Management: Manage mining contractors; ensure adherence to contracts; monitor performance related to productivity, safety and quality.
• Environment Management: Ensure environmental compliance; promote green mining, dust suppression, and sustainability.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain statutory records; prepare MIS reports on production, safety and equipment; liaise with authorities.

Mine Operations Management

• Plan, organize, and supervise day-to-day mining operations.
• Ensure achievement of monthly and annual production targets.
• Monitor drilling, blasting, excavation, loading, and transportation activities.
• Optimize mine productivity and equipment utilization.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with the Mines Act, DGMS regulations, MMR, and other statutory requirements.
• Implement and monitor safety management systems and safe work practices.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
• Investigate accidents/incidents and implement corrective actions.

Resource & Team Management

• Lead and manage mine engineers, supervisors, operators, and contractual manpower.
• Develop workforce capability through training and skill enhancement initiatives.
• Ensure effective deployment of manpower and equipment.

Mine Planning & Development

• Coordinate with mine planning and geology teams for short-term and long-term mine plans.
• Monitor mine development activities and ensure adherence to approved mining plans.
• Support exploration and reserve estimation activities.

Contractor Management

• Manage mining contractors and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
• Monitor contractor performance related to productivity, safety, and quality standards.

Environment Management

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and mine closure requirements.
• Drive initiatives related to green mining, dust suppression, and sustainability.

Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain statutory records, reports, and documentation.
• Prepare MIS reports on production, productivity, safety, and equipment performance.
• Liaise with government authorities, DGMS officials, and other regulatory bodies.
