Job summary

Maa Ambey Group in Bokaro district, Jharkhand, seeks a DGMS-certified Mine Manager to head statutory and production operations at our opencast coal mining contract site (blast-free operation). You will oversee overburden handling per month using a surface miner and lead a multidisciplinary site team.

The role requires compliance with Mines Act 1952, Coal Mines Regulations 2017, and MVT Rules 1966. You will liaise with CCL officials, DGMS Ranchi, and district administration, drive a zero-LTI

Qualifications

• DGMS certification is required and certificate number will be verified.
• Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience in opencast coal operations; surface miner/blast-free site experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of Mines Act 1952, Coal Mines Regulations 2017, and MVT Rules 1966.
• Willing to be stationed at site (Bokaro district).

Responsibilities

• Overall statutory charge of the mine as Manager under the Mines Act 1952 and Coal Mines Regulations 2017.
• Achieve monthly production targets (coal + OB) through multi-shift blast-free mechanised operations.
• Lead a team of Assistant Managers, Safety Officer, Overmen, Mining Sirdars and ~100 site personnel.
• Ensure 100% DGMS compliance: appointments, notices, returns, registers, Safety Management Plan, bench geometry approvals.
• Liaise with CCL officials, DGMS Ranchi and district administration.
• Drive a zero-LTI safety culture; conduct safety committee meetings and mock drills.
• Monitor equipment productivity (surface miner, excavators, HEMM fleet) and coordinate with the P&M head.
• Oversee monthly survey measurement and billing reconciliation with the principal employer.

• Prior experience in contractor/MDO operations with CIL subsidiaries (CCL/BCCL/ECL).
• Experience managing DGMS inspections and permissions independently.
