Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited in Chennai seeks a BE-qualified Quality Engineer to drive APQP-based part development, review drawings for manufacturability, and prepare detailed cost estimates for new components.

You will support supplier selection, plan process flows and control plans, conduct MSA/SPC where needed, complete PPAP documentation, and push for on-time milestones with optimal quality, cost and timeline outcomes.

Qualifications

• BE degree required for the role.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in quality/product development.

Responsibilities

• Develop quality parts in line with APQP requirements to meet production targets.
• Review drawings and confirm manufacturability of components.
• Prepare detailed component cost estimates and costing analysis for new parts.
• Support material and tooling cost finalization within approved budgets.
• Identify and select suppliers as per sourcing policies and guidelines.
• Plan supplier manufacturing processes and develop PFC and Control Plans.
• Conduct MSA and SPC studies wherever applicable.
• Complete PPAP requirements and documentation as per quality standards.
• Participate in PPAP trials, validate parts, and approve PPAP submissions.
• Ensure project milestones are achieved in line with MPDS gateway targets.
• Deliver part development with optimum quality, cost, and timeline performance.
• Ensure proper planning and readiness of fixtures, gauges, and tooling for development.
• Drive First Time Right (FTR) PPAP approvals.
• Contribute to project feasibility assessments and risk evaluations.
• Ensure achievement of PIST and PIPC targets and process capability requirements.
• Achieve 100% GR acceptance of parts after PPAP approval.
• Collaborate with commodity teams to identify suppliers, evaluate ratings, assess costs, and ensure compliance with sourcing strategies.
