Job summary

Geo-Chem India in Mulund (Mumbai) seeks an experienced leader to oversee the Building Material Testing Laboratory, ensuring accurate testing and timely reporting across cement, concrete, steel, and aggregates. You will manage staff, enforce QA/QC, and coordinate with clients and regulators while driving continuous improvement.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred) with 6+ years in related labs, including 3+ years in a managerial capacity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
• Minimum 6 years in building material testing labs, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Master's degree in civil or materials engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Building Material Testing Laboratory.
• Test materials like cement, concrete, steel, aggregates, bricks, soil per standards.
• Monitor QA/QC procedures and maintain testing accuracy.
• Review and approve test reports before issuance.
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Coordinate with clients, project teams, consultants, and regulators.
• Develop and implement lab procedures and quality systems.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate lab engineers and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
• Investigate testing issues and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare monthly reports on testing activities and performance.
• Support audits, certifications, and accreditation requirements.
