Job summary

Sumeru Tests Private Limited in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh, seeks a Technical Manager for its Material Testing Laboratory. You will oversee laboratory testing activities, maintain records and reports, ensure testing procedures meet IS codes, and provide technical support for both lab and field testing.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech or other relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Basic knowledge of construction-material testing and relevant IS codes.
• Previous experience in a material testing/civil laboratory will be preferred.
• Ability to prepare and maintain testing documentation and reports.
• Basic computer knowledge, including MS Word and Excel.
• Willingness to travel and work at different project sites as required.
• Responsible, disciplined and capable of independently handling assigned laboratory work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out and supervise testing of construction and civil engineering materials as per applicable IS codes, specifications, and approved procedures.
• Perform/assist in testing of materials such as cement, concrete, aggregates, sand, soil, bricks/blocks, steel and other construction materials.
• Ensure proper operation, handling and basic maintenance of laboratory testing equipment.
• Maintain test registers, observations, calculations, test records and reports.
• Prepare and review test reports before submission.
• Coordinate with clients, site engineers, laboratory staff and management regarding testing requirements.
• Visit project/client sites for sample collection, field testing, inspection or other technical work.
• Work at project sites for the required duration when the nature of the assignment demands it.
• Ensure testing is carried out according to relevant IS standards, quality procedures and laboratory requirements.

Job Summary

The candidate will be responsible for laboratory testing activities, maintaining testing records and reports, ensuring proper testing procedures, and providing technical support for laboratory as well as site-testing requirements.

The candidate should also be willing to visit and work at project/client sites whenever required, depending on the nature and location of the work.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure testing is carried out according to relevant IS standards, quality procedures and laboratory requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety and discipline in the laboratory.
• Support documentation and quality-system requirements applicable to the laboratory.
• Perform any other laboratory/site-related technical duties assigned by management.

Candidate Requirements

Normal Laboratory Timing: 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

The position involves both laboratory and field/site work. The employee may be required to visit or work at client/project sites depending upon testing requirements and ongoing assignments.
