The Asst Manager Business Development will lead growth initiatives for our moulding and stamping division, focused on auto component manufacturing. The role demands expertise in the auto industry supply chain, particularly in securing OEM and Tier 1 supplier clients, managing technical sales cycles, and expanding into new automotive market segments. The candidate will drive strategic partnerships and revenue growth by promoting our precision moulding and metal stamping capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies specific to the auto component moulding and stamping sector.
- Diversification of current portfolio.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.
- Manage the entire sales cyclefrom lead generation and technical discussions to contract negotiation and closing deals.
- Handle the complete RFQ process: receive, analyze, coordinate internally with engineering and production, prepare costing,prepare competitive and accurate quotations, and follow up with prospective customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key automotive industry stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to tailor solutions as per client requirements and support quotations and technical proposals.
- Monitor auto industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to anticipate market needs.
- Prepare market analysis, forecasts, and sales reports to guide strategic decisions and report to senior management.
- Represent the company in auto industry exhibitions, trade shows, and networking events to enhance brand presence.
- Lead and mentor junior sales and business development staff as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in business development or sales within the auto component manufacturing sector, specifically moulding and metal stamping preferred.
- Strong understanding of the automotive supply chain and OEM/Tier 1 buying processes.
- Proven experience in RFQ management, quotation preparation, and bid follow-up in an industrial manufacturing context.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and developing long-term client relationships in auto component manufacturing.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with technical sales ability.
- Proficient in CRM software, MS Office, and sales analytics tools.
- Willingness to travel frequently to client sites and industry events.
- Relationship building with automotive OEMs, suppliers, and aftermarket partners.
- RFQ process management and quote preparation excellence.
- Results-driven with a consultative approach to client engagement.
