Job summary

CIEL HR seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to develop in-house overmolding capabilities for the product line parts. The role involves evaluating processes, designing tooling, and coordinating with quality, production and vendors to implement robust processes.

The candidate should have 5–8 years in a Tier 1 OEM automotive environment, strong 2D/3D design skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks, plus Moldflow analysis experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • 5–8 years in Tier 1 OEM automotive or similar manufacturing.
  • Experience with both manual and automated insert moulding.
  • Proficient in 3D modelling and 2D drafting.
  • Experience with injection moulding and various mold presses.
  • Knowledge of metrology methods and MSA.
  • Experience with Moldflow analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop in-house overmolding capabilities for product line parts.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes via field research and cross-functional coordination.
  • Create manufacturing process documentation for mold tools and presses.
  • Set up standard manufacturing process for the product line.
  • Improve efficiency by optimizing workflow, space, and equipment layout.
  • Lead manufacturing engineering activities in alignment with strategy.
  • Provide cross-plant support for continuous improvement.
  • Support molding issues at component suppliers.
  • Develop new processes and tooling with robust process controls.
  • Coordinate capital requirements for new RFQs with cross-functional teams.
  • Adhere to forecasted capital and tooling spending.
  • Develop new technology processes aligned with product strategy.
  • Improve current processes to meet global productivity, scrap, safety.

Job description

Role & responsibilities
  • Develop in-house overmolding capabilities for the Product Line parts manufacturing.
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting field research programs; applying knowledge of product design, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; coordination with other departments (quality, production, maintenance) and production floor.
  • Create mfg. process documentation for mold tools and mold presses.
  • Set up standard manufacturing process for product line.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
  • Lead and support mfg. engineering activities in coordination with the Mfg. strategy.
  • Support cross Morse mfg. plants in continue improvement activities.
  • Support GSM with molding issues at components suppliers.
  • Development of new processes, tooling, and equipment required for manufacturing new products with robust process controls in line with program timelines.
  • Responsible for conducting manufacturing feasibility assessment, provide capital requirement on new RFQs by coordinating with cross functional team and global team through MSO review.
  • Adherence of forecasted capital and tooling spending as per planned.
  • Develop new technology process based on DMS products strategy with global support.
  • Responsible for Improving current process to global standards in terms of productivity, Scrap/PPM, Safety, Poka yoke controls, Process capability
  • Extend technical support for production and quality on Critical line stoppages and Customer complaint issues.
  • Should be able to develop documentation requirement in the complete process, drive periodic review and Update regularly
  • Core Tool Exposures such as Flow diagram, FMEA/ MSA/Work instructions/SPC/PDCA/ Control Chart / QC tools / 5 Why / 3W1H / 8D/Cause & effect diagram / Pareto Chart /
  • Must have knowledge on Cycle time Study, OEE, Line balancing, SMED, Kanban, lean basics.

Preferred candidate profile
  • Bachelors degree with any Engineering with 5 - 8 years of work experience in Tier 1 OEM automotive, manufacturing environment with multiple customers.
  • Should be able to travel at times of needs.
  • Experienced in mechanical design 2D. Preferred 3D modelling AutoCAD/Inventor or Solid Works or equivalent design software
  • Experience in Manual and automated insert moulding
  • Experience with injection process hot and cold runner systems
  • Experience with hydraulic, toggle and electric Mold presses
  • Experience in metrology methods x moulded parts, gages and MSA
