Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks a senior Transport Planning professional to lead complex projects, applying industry-standard tools and strategic modelling approaches. The role requires extensive software experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to guide teams and interact with clients across cultures.

The candidate should have a deep grounding in transport policy contexts, GIS/database analytics, and programming skills. Hybrid work arrangements and relocation options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and Master's in transport planning/engineering.
• 15+ years of transport planning software experience.
• Strong numerate and analytical abilities; Excel expert.
• Ability to write quality technical reports.
• Experience leading small teams and project delivery.
• Programming skills: Python, PowerBI, Excel-VBA and R.

Responsibilities

• Lead transport planning projects using VISUM, CUBE, EMME, SATURN and DIADEM.
• Develop strategic modelling guidance and methodologies.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports and client presentations.
• Collaborate in multi-disciplinary project teams; lead smaller teams.
• Utilize MS Excel for complex analyses and reporting.
• Engage with clients and adapt to different cultures.

Your role

• Appropriate academic and professional qualifications (Bachelor's Degree with Master's degree in transport planning / transportation engineering)
• 15+ years of working experience in Transport Planning software such as VISUM, CUBE, EMME, SATURN, DIADEM
• Experience and knowledge of Strategic Modelling techniques and guidance
• Knowledge of the technical transport planning environment
• Strong numerate and analytical abilities, including a high degree of competence in MS Excel
• Able to write a quality technical report
• Ability to work in a team as part of a wider project
• Experience in leading smaller teams as part of a project delivery
• Good written communication skills
• Ability to work individually
