Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal Transport Planner (Strategic Modelling) to join our team in Bangalore/Gurgaon, India. The role requires advanced modelling expertise and leads transport planning projects across multiple regions.

You will work with VISUM/SATURN/EMME/DIADEM, GIS tools, Python, and PowerBI, delivering strategic transport solutions while mentoring smaller teams and collaborating with clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in transport planning or economics.
• 16+ years in Transport Planning with VISUM/SATURN/EMME/ DIADEM.
• Experience in strategic modelling techniques and guidance.
• Delivery of transport planning/modelling projects for UK/ME/USA/Canada/Australia.
• Strong analytical skills with large datasets; scripting in Python/Excel-VBA/R.
• GIS tools ArcGIS/QGIS; MS Office and PowerBI proficiency.
• Ability to lead teams and delegate tasks; good written communication.

Your role

We are looking for a Principal Transport Planner (Strategic Modelling) to join our team. This role will be based at our AtkinsRéalis office in Bangalore/Gurgaon, India.

• Appropriate academic and professional qualifications (Bachelor’s Degree with Master’s degree in transport planning / economics).
• Working experience (16+ years) in Transport Planning software like VISUM, SATURN, DIADEM, EMME.
• Experience and knowledge of Strategic Modelling techniques and guidance.
• Knowledge and experience in delivering transport planning/modelling projects for UK/ME/ USA/ Canada/ Australia regions.
• Strong Analytical skills with experience in handling and interpreting complex datasets.
• Experience in scripting using like Python, Excel-VBA and R.
• Strong understanding of ArcGIS/QGIS, PowerBI and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work in a team as part of a wider project with no supervision.
• Experience in leading smaller teams as part of a project delivery.
• Good written communication skills.
• Be able to delegate the tasks.
