Job summary

Clarivate Analytics in Chennai invites applications for an Associate STEM Content Analyst to work on Derwent patent content. You will apply deep chemistry knowledge to extract novel information from patents and tag it using DWPI codes in line with editorial policies.

The role offers a full-time schedule (9 hours per day) with Monday to Friday workdays, and a supportive environment that values accuracy, learning, and career development.

Qualifications

• M.Sc in Chemistry or related field.
• Fresh graduates or 1–2 years in related domain.
• Strong knowledge of chemistry, including nomenclature, reactions, formulas, inorganic chemistry, catalysts.
• Familiarity with chemical drawing tools such as ISIS Draw.
• Understanding novelty of invention in patents.

Responsibilities

• Extract novel information from patents using DWPI codes in line with editorial policies.
• Achieve production volume and quality targets.
• Maintain a flexible and adaptable approach towards process change.
• Identify technology training and development needs for yourself on an ongoing basis.

We are looking for an (Associate) STEM Content Analyst to join our Chemistry team in Chennai. This is an amazing opportunity to work on Derwent. We have a great skill set in Chemistry, analytical and logical thinking and we would love to speak with you if you have the yearning to know more about patents.

About You Must be a M.Sc Chemistry/General Chemistry/Organic Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry graduate. Can be a fresh grad or can have one - two years of experience in related domain. Comprehensive knowledge of chemistry, include chemical nomenclature, reactions, formulae, inorganic chemistry, Catalysts, additives and their functions. Knowledge in chemical drawing packages, e.g., ISIS Draw It would be great if you also had . . . Knowledge & understanding about novelty of the invention in Patents

What will you be doing in this role?

Extract the novel information from patent and value-add by using DWPI codes in line with editorial policies and conventions. Achieve production volume and quality targets. Maintain a flexible and adaptable approach towards process change. To take responsibility for identifying technology training and developmental needs for yourself on an on-going basis.

Hours of Work 9 hours per day (Full-time) - including one hour break

Workdays: Monday to Friday
