Role Summary
- Identify and monitor settlement-related credit, liquidity, operational, concentration, and participantdefault risks.
- Monitor settlement exposures, risk limits, collateral adequacy, liquidity positions, breaches, andexceptions.
- Develop and maintain settlement risk policies, procedures, risk indicators, dashboards, andmanagement reports.
- Support stress testing, scenario analysis, participant risk assessments, and default-managementpreparedness.
- Recommend appropriate controls and mitigation measures to reduce settlement risk.
- Provide oversight, review, and challenge to the First Line of Defense.
- Assist risk owners in identifying key risks, control gaps, and corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on the implementation and enhancement of GRC andrisk-management tools.
- Analyze risk data to identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks.
- Perform risk-governance activities and prepare updates for senior management and relevantcommittees.
Risk Governance and Framework
- Support the enhancement and implementation of the Settlement Risk Management Framework inline with the organization’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework and risk appetite.
- Prepare and update risk policies, standards, process documents, operating procedures, riskregisters, assessment reports, and governance materials.
- Provide independent oversight, review, challenge, and advice to the First Line of Defense.
- Assist Principal Risk Owners and Principal Risk Coordinators in identifying key risks, assessingmitigating controls, and developing action plans to address control gaps.
- Undertake risk and control assessments and monitor the timely closure of agreed risk mitigationactions.
- Prepare dashboards, management reports, committee presentations, and risk insights for seniormanagement and relevant governance forums.
- Perform risk governance activities, including committee coordination, action tracking, issuemanagement, and maintenance of risk records.
- Promote risk awareness and contribute to initiatives aimed at strengthening the organization’s riskculture.
- Track relevant regulatory developments, industry trends, internal events, and external riskincidents, and assess their potential impact on clearing and settlement operations.
Requirements
- 3 to 6 years of experience in settlement risk, credit or liquidity risk, operational risk, enterprise risk,compliance, or audit.
- Good understanding of payment, clearing, and settlement processes, along with relevant bankingregulations and risk-management practices.
- Experience in financial services, banking, payments, or financial market infrastructure is preferred.
- Ability to analyze settlement exposures, limits, breaches, and risk data, and translate findings intopractical recommendations.
- Experience with GRC tools, risk analytics, Advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar toolsis desirable.
- Working knowledge of AI and its application in risk monitoring, anomaly detection, reporting, anddecision-making.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, coordinate across teams, and manage multiple prioritiesin a dynamic environment.
- Sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to escape material risk issues promptly.
AI Knowledge Requirement
- Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and generative AI concepts.
- Understanding of AI applications in risk monitoring, anomaly detection, early-warning indicators,predictive analysis, and automated reporting.
- Awareness of AI-related risks such as data quality, bias, explainability, privacy, model risk, andinformation security.
- Ability to use AI responsibly, with appropriate human oversight and governance.
