Job summary

Microland Limited in Bengaluru is seeking an Associate SME for Digital Network & Security (NS2) to join the network engineering team. You will work on Juniper RandS, WLAN (Mist), Juniper SRX, and Cisco ISE, implementing and troubleshooting core security and switching tasks.

The role includes initial config, routing, VLANs, firewall policies, WLAN onboarding, 802.1X, and cross-functional collaboration to resolve issues while mentoring juniors and ensuring delivery quality.

Qualifications

• Experience with Juniper RandS deployment and basic routing (OSPF/RIP).
• Proficient in Juniper WLAN (Mist) onboarding and health checks.
• Hands-on knowledge of Juniper SRX firewall policies and NAT.
• Awareness of Cisco ISE operations and RADIUS logs.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure network devices with Juniper RandS and Junos OS.
• Plan and manage firewall policies, NAT rules and traffic monitoring.
• Onboard Mist APs, configure WLANs/SSIDs, and monitor wireless health.
• Support 802.1X/posture-based access control with Cisco ISE.
• Collaborate across teams, handle escalations, and mentor juniors.

Network Device Deployment and Configuration (Juniper RandS)

Knowledgeable in performing initial configuration, basic routing (OSPF/RIP), VLAN setup, and interface troubleshooting on Juniper EX/QFX series switches using CLI and Junos OS.

Firewall Policy Management and Troubleshooting (Juniper SRX)

Knowledgeable in applying and managing security policies, configuring NAT rules, and monitoring traffic logs on Juniper SRX firewalls to control traffic between trust and untrust zones.

Wireless Access Point Setup and Basic Monitoring (Juniper Mist WLAN)

Aware of onboarding Mist APs, configuring WLANs/SSIDs, and utilizing the Mist dashboard for basic wireless health checks, client status analysis, and AP troubleshooting.

802.1X and Posture-Based Access Control Support (Cisco ISE)

Aware of supporting Cisco ISE operations including endpoint profiling, basic policy creation, authentication troubleshooting through RADIUS logs, and integrating network access control with Juniper switches.

Communicates clearly, concisely, and professionally across all levels of interaction. Works efficiently within cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment during issue resolution. Handles escalations effectively by providing comprehensive analysis, relevant logs, and detailed observations to higher-level teams, enabling faster and more accurate resolution.

Supervises junior employees, ensures delivery quality and standards adherence, and supports onboarding, training, and stakeholder coordination.

Provides second-level support, reviews junior employees work, and offers day-to-day guidance to improve quality and first-time resolution.
