Job summary

ASSA ABLOY in Chennai invites an Associate Test Engineer to ensure quality of our Quoting software products. You will design, develop, and execute functional tests for web-based applications, applying our automation and QA best practices.

You will work with IT Delivery teams, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and participate in Scrum ceremonies while growing your automation skills with Java, Selenium, and Cucumber.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
• 1–3 years of QA with Java-Selenium automation (TestNG/Cucumber).
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Maven, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps) and Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements and plan test strategy with IT Application Delivery.
• Develop and document test plans, scenarios, and cases.
• Develop test automation using Java, Selenium, and Cucumber.
• Contribute to automated testing frameworks and libraries.
• Support testing efforts: functional, regression, and performance for web apps.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD and run parallel tests under guidance.
• Participate in Scrum events and report progress to SQA Manager.

Job Summary:

As Associate Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Quoting software products. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing functional test scripts to verify the functionality of web‑based applications. Your expertise in functional testing, automated testing, and best practices will contribute to our overall testing strategy, enabling us to deliver top‑notch software to our clients.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review requirements and acceptance criteria for testability; collaborate with the IT Application Delivery team to determine the most effective testing strategy
• Develop and document test plans, test scenarios, and test cases
• Develop test automation using Java - Selenium and Cucumber BDD framework
• Contribute to the design and development of automated testing frameworks and libraries
• Support all testing efforts including functional, regression and Performance testing for Web based applications
• Integrate test automation into CI/CD process and perform parallel executions under senior guidance
• Actively Participate in Scrum activities
• Verify end‑user expectations are met during the testing process as well as post‑implementation
• Accurately report testing results and progress at appropriate intervals as established by the SQA Manager
• Conduct research and proactively make recommendations to improve tools and techniques
• Document and report defects; coordinate with appropriate resources to ensure proper tracking and resolution of all defects

QUALIFICATIONS

• EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering
• EXPERIENCE 1 to 3 years professional experience as a QA Analyst 1+ years with automation framework in Java Selenium (TESTNG/Cucumber framework) Exposure to playwright using typescript would be added advantage.
• TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR ABILITIES: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have worked on Java‑Selenium automation (BDD Cucumber or TESTNG frameworks) Must have worked on Web based application testing. Strong experience and hands on in functional testing. Must have worked on incorporating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Maven & Jenkins or Azure DevOps Have experience in configuring and triggering pipelines, Git Hub/GitLab Actions Must have experience working on Agile methodologies within a Scrum team environment Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed to meet deadlines Having exposure to Cursor AI and Copilot would be added advantage Testing experience in GWT, WebGL technology and 3D Drawing Application testing would be plus Having exposure to Datadog monitoring tool would be plus
