Job summary

Avantor in Tamil Nadu seeks an Associate - Product Information Management to support data management strategies, investigate data quality issues, and execute mass data processes while safeguarding against data loss. You will maintain the Data Dictionary and training materials under the Enterprise Data Management & Analytics team.

Coordinate mass data imports, cleansing initiatives, and ensure data integrity across corporate databases.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Chemistry or Life Sciences
• PhD in chemistry preferred
• Laboratory experience and good product knowledge is a plus

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for Associate - Product Information Management. Entry level position who can support Avantor’s data management strategies by investigating and resolving data quality issues in enterprise applications via deletion and merging, while safeguarding against data loss. Execute mass data management processes while ensuring data quality. Manage documentation, updates to the Data Dictionary and data management training materials, under the guidance of the Enterprise Data Management & Analytics team. Coordinate and conduct mass data imports into core systems, and mass data-cleansing initiatives, ensuring integrity and eliminating redundancy from corporate databases.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complete training and get certified on process/processes within the stipulated timeframe
• Adhere to the workflow instructions/standard operating procedure provided by the business
• Complete all assigned tasks as per Service Level requirements specified by the business and meet/exceed key performance parameters
• Liaise with both internal and external customers and provide resolution with a customer centric approach
• Primary responsibilities are writing engaging scientific and marketing content for print and digital communication channels
• Research in various sources or information like supplier and distributor catalogs (printed and electronic), the internet, internal and external sources (Category Managers, product information, supplier representatives, etc.), and communicate them in a clear and concise manner, using the appropriate voice for our customers
• Contribute to content strategy planning
• Work closely with the Leadership, Marketing and Sales teams to ensure that content objectives are met
• Proof-read the documents for more extensive language editing and flag them promptly with the designated point of contact
• To write content which meet SEO guidelines to increase web traffic

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)

• Minimum of a graduate Degree in Chemistry/Life science or an equivalent subject. Preferably a PhD in chemistry, relevant to the role may also be considered
• Practical Laboratory experience and good product knowledge is a plus

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Demonstrated superior writing, copyediting, proofreading and research skills
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
• Familiarity of basic knowledge in the instrument and chemicals are needed
• Efficiency in a deadline-driven environment with multiple concurrent assignments
• Proficiency with MS Office applications, Adobe Acrobat
• Adhere to company’s Policies, procedures, rules and guidelines
