Job summary

Rockwell Automation seeks a Software professional to develop and maintain industrial automation configurator tools and server-based web applications. You will work with product marketing and engineering teams to implement configurator solutions and ensure data integrity across databases.

The role requires 1–4 years of software development, strong DB skills (SQL, MS Access, Excel), and experience with CPQ platforms. Hybrid work policy applies, with responsibilities spanning global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, test, and support Industrial Automation System configuration and selection tools.
• Design and implement product configurators based on product marketing specifications and business requirements.
• Organize, manage, and maintain product and configuration data from various databases for integration into electronic marketing and sales tools.
• Work closely with Product Marketing teams to clarify configurator requirements and implement enhancements resulting from product reviews.
• Develop and maintain server-based web applications supporting product configuration and selection processes.
• Create, test, and deploy configurator solutions in enterprise configurator environments.
• Perform database programming activities, including data modeling, maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Participate in software release, validation, testing, and deployment activities.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and engineering teams, on a daily basis to deliver quality solutions.
• Ensure configurator accuracy, performance, documentation, and compliance with established development standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to automation product knowledge development.

The Essentials - You Will Have Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. 1-4 years of software development and maintenance experience. Experience working on live software development projects and production support activities. Strong experience with database programming and data management concepts. Good knowledge of software application development, testing methodologies, and technical documentation. Experience working in product configurator development environments. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and work effectively with globally distributed teams. Flexibility to support U.S. time zones during software release and testing activities.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have Knowledge of Industrial Automation products, preferably Rockwell Automation products or equivalent competitor offerings. Hands-on experience with declarative product model programming in configurator platforms CPQ such as: SAP Variant Configuration (SAP VC) Selectica (Oracle CPQ) Configit Tacton Experience in creating and maintaining product configurators like online product configuration solutions. Strong knowledge of MS Access, SQL, and Microsoft Excel. Experience with server-based web application development and maintenance. Ability to interpret product configuration specifications and translate them into effective configurator solutions. Experience working closely with Product Marketing teams to define requirements and implement configuration changes. Exposure to product lifecycle management, product data management, and configuration testing processes. Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions with business users, product managers, and external partners. Strong desire to continuously learn Industrial Automation products and emerging technologies.
