Job Description:
JOB PURPOSE
To lead a team of technical professionals to achieve maximum availability, reliability and cost-effective operation of Mechanical HVAC (High-Side & Low-Side), Plumbing, Fire-Fighting systems & the various engineering infrastructure & assets of the Passenger Terminal Building, while complying with all applicable safety, environmental, statutory, regulatory and legal norms
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Support the Mechanical team of the Passenger Terminal Building for HVAC systems covering High Side assets (chillers and pumps) and Low Side assets (air handling units and associated equipment).
- Support the Mechanical team of the Passenger Terminal Building for Plumbing systems covering water supply & sewage pipeline networks, pumps & motors, washroom fixtures and associated equipment.
- Support the Mechanical team of the Passenger Terminal Building for Fire-Fighting systems covering the entire pipeline network, pumps, motors and associated equipment.
- Support the Mechanical team of the Passenger Terminal Building for RO plant systems covering pipeline network, water fountains and associated equipment.
- Lead efforts in developing performance metrics and KPIs to facilitate data-driven maintenance and operational decisions.
- Lead 24/7 Airport Maintenance (Mechanical) to ensure optimal customer service support to maintenance departments, airport divisions, airlines, concessionaires and the travelling public.
- Provide leadership and ensure airport compliance in relation to testing, preventive maintenance and upkeep of safety systems.
- Support Specialist – Mechanical in fiscal analysis, budget preparation and recommendations for Capital and Operations/Maintenance budgets; ensure efficient funds management through fiscally sound practices and business-case justifications.
- Develop and incorporate innovations or changes to create cost savings and improve maintainability.
- Percentage availability of systems and equipment

- Energy and water consumption: reduction in cost per passengerero non-compliance to Statutory requirements
Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Regulatory Compliances
- Drive implementation and strict adherence to HSE and Quality standards, including internal and external audit compliance.
- Ensure conformance to standards set by external regulatory bodies such as DGCA, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, Indian Electricity Rules, Legal Metrology Act and National Building Code.
- Conduct site audits for quality and safety at works.

New Special Projects / Initiative
- Lead Business Excellence programmes in the areas of cost reduction, process excellence, energy and water saving initiatives, ISO standard certification, audit readiness and implementation of audit action points.

- Drive team development initiatives in alignment with Human Resource function.

- Should be able to handle an Operating Expenses budget of minimum INR 50 Crores.
- Should be capable to manage a Capital Expenditure budget of minimum INR 100 Crores.
OTHER DIMENSIONS
- Should be able to handle a total in-house team size of approximately 10 members.
- Should be able to handle a total team of minimum 100 members including external service providers.
- Should be capable to handle a vast area of operations including the Airport and associated facilities.
- Should be able to independently handle multidisciplinary equipment and infrastructure.
- Should be process-driven and well versed with maintenance management processes.
Should display strong leadership skills and qualities with emphasis on team building, negotiation and communication
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Mechanical engineering
- Diploma in Mechanical engineering
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
7–9 years of total experience and at least 3 years’ experience in Engineering Maintenance Activities of Airport.
